Executed, or murdered? They certainly shouldn't be executed by random courtiers, but why shouldn't they be victims of murder?

Tanaz is a lunatic, and she accounts for 2 of the 3 murders you used as "evidence". Rivalries will often lead to murder plots. Your half-brother murdering your spymaster might be a precursor to him trying to murder you.

That said, you should be getting righteous imprisonment on the murderers because they're in your realm or court and committing acts of treason. I'd call it a bug if you're not getting righteous imprisonment on them.

I've noticed in the past that when ordering someone's death through and event or plot, the character giving the order won't always be tagged as the murderer. And always regarded it as the person tagged as being the one who did the dirty work (and think they often were actually involved in the murder/execution in most cases).

It's been a while since I've played and I haven't been doing much plotting this latest game.

Yes but when you get the event that "So-and-so is running around your realm, fabricating a claim", or generally being trouble, the event where you deal with them doesn't count as execution either.

Had a lot of high-intrigue spymasters get slaughtered within a month or two, so it definitely is a thing. Even just sitting at home and watching for plots was highly fatal for them - especially if they were just sitting at home and watching for plots. Improving plot power to take down a king? Getting murdered by said king is understandable. Sitting at home, everyone from my wife to the Mayor of Nowhere wants a turn at stabbing this week's 20+ master spy.

And yep, can confirm: no lawful imprisonment for anyone. That's two anecdotes, which convert to two data points, or 100% confirmation.

Yes, they were murdered not executed. Im not getting righteous imprisonment so it should be a bug.

But is it bad luck that the only people who die are spymasters?

Spymasters performing the "Scheme" job are target of murder attempts by plotters afraid of their plot being discovered. That is done through an event.

Is killer in your court? If she/he is outside your court you dont get righteous imprisonment. its normal mechanic someone in other court start a plot, invites characters on your court to kill you.

If character is not your direct vassal or on your court you will not have righteous imprisonment.

Which is completely stupid, if a character within your realm gets caught committing murder you should have the right to imprison them at least. If you are a vassal you should be able to petition your liege for justice in cases like this.

Law & Order DLC anyone?
