Does anyone know how accurate the number of foreign spies in your own country is?

Playing as Germany I keep foreign spies in Germany at zero but it appears that some of my CV builds have been delayed for no apparent reason. I was not informed of any sabotage and I do not think I left any known spies in Germany for long. BTW, I keep my own domestic spies at 10.

Are you in war? Have the allies been bombing yuor IC, that cuold effect it on and off. This happened often in my German campaign, until i conquered the British Isles :D . But that IC decrease form the bombings could rbing down your production afew points below what it needs, and slow down some things.

I have noticed the same thing, andI suspect some nefarious activities occur despite there being ostensibly "zero" spies. :)

The AI does not need spies to do missions, and since they get a bonus to intelligence success on harder difficulty levels, at any time they feel like it they get a 15% chance of knocking something expensive, like a carrier or nuclear reactor, back by months. Extremely annoying. Any time you set up a lot of builds at once, and later you see that one or more of them (somewhere in the middle, so not a IC lack problem) will complete later than the others, this is why.

It was not my IC going low. The CVs were in the middle of all my builds and I had long series below them. If my IC had dropped my gearing bonus would have gone away, which it did not.

That is not right to have the AI be able to do missions even without any spies in country.

In DD I saw that I'dont loose my gearing bonus even when I halt all production on many days becouse fighting for example with dissent.

The spy number accuracy is indeed wrong, notice how it says "this is how many spies we estimate are here" or something. I've killed 3 spies when it said there were 0 before. Always be running counterintell missions (yes it gets annoying to pause weekly).

From my experience when it was no spies in my country, counter spies missions were always killed some spies from my allies or puppets only.
