I have experimented with sprites since armageddon i started to use sprite mods. In AoD i mixed sprites from several mods, because i like high quality ones. I made (integrated in the game) multi-level sprites for majors, mostly for tanks and aircrafts.

I got one problem - i cannot fill all levels and dont need it, so i have integrated for example only pre ww2 fighter, early ww2 fighter, later ww2 fighter and jet fighter sprites. But the next lvl sprite after jet falls back to early fighter sprite, so it looks quite crazy - a biplane sprites in cold war time. To solve this problem i have to do the same last sprite for each level to the last one. It takes a lot of time and more disc space plus game have to load more sprites (actually the same sprite several times).

So I would appreciate if you change system in this way: if there isnt any designated sprite for some model, lets say fighter lvl 10, so game searches and takes the last available sprite, may be fighter lvl9 or 7 or 1. In case when there isnt any fighter sprites, game chooses default fighter sprite model for this country.

When it functions already in this way, let me know that :)

Tankist/45: I would encourage you 100% to keep going and complete your work. We share the same interest in improving the graphics in the games.

On spending too much time working with files: I found Rename It! a very useful program for renaming a complete set of sprite-level files in 2 seconds. I used InfoRapid Search and Replace to do the internal "search and replace" work on the pic names etc. This should help you a lot.

As for your wish, I haven't come across a quick solution, but if I do, I'll let you know.

My most recent work, I got my hands on some 3D models and was able to take a reduced image into a sprite, and still retain the quality.. Then I got distracted with other modding... I would really need about 5 lifetimes to be able to finish off the stuff I started..

I'd love to see some of your sprites.. Can you give us a sneak peak?;) You show me yours, and I'll show you mine.....:p

Hi novapaddy, i'm using an file rename programm aswell, as its hell of work otherwise. Still its a problem with duplicate files as i described in first post. It can slow down the game(i know DH is fast, but it isnt an argument to slow down the game).

Thats modern sprites i have mixed for MDS. Since MDS2 for AoD or DH has died i stopped the works.

I cannot open up the attachments... it says "invalid".. maybe you used an invalid type of file... I think they have to be png or bmp.. it will give a long list under the Manage Attachments..

No, I was just interested in the quality of the images you had... as I've found that using various image software, you can still end up with poor quality images..

I think that MDS mod may be starting up again, have a look in the DH Mods section... Cheers

Anyone know why my attachments arent visible? Aswell maybe a comment on my sprite suggestion?
