I might have to put my oriignal plan to one side.

Blood + Kin looks tasty.
I wonder how that personal scheme against dynasty member is going to apply (close bonds, kin lv4). Like... Am I getting myself more troubles by teching that? (Edit: Was informed that this only apply to non-hostile stuff like swaying)

Glory looks useless pass lv1 btw. +10 general opinion LOL. That's like a CK2 artifact.

Opinion still seems like it's pretty important here despite the Dread mechanics, it's necessary for schemes. And prestige is more of a currency than ever.

Not to mention getting the approval of your bishop seems to be extremely important, and harder to do.

It's really hard to guess the relative balance between them until we've played (for instance, Warfare 3 gives you +10% martial experience; if that's enough to allow you to fill out another perk tree fairly consistently with each ruler, that's quite good, if not it's significantly less useful; conversely it remains to be seen how useful positive congenital traits are, and how often Blood 4 makes the chosen one appear).

That said, looking at these I'll probably start off with Kin, both because getting more kids=more dynasty XP earlier, and because it looks like the most generally useful (both Kin 2 and Kin 5 give extra stats, which anyone can use regardless of strategy, whereas many of the others tend to lock you in a particular direction).

Blood seems like the obvious first choice if you know you're doing an early start to end date run, followed closely by Kin. The others, while they admitedly look quite fun (I can't wait to get my hands on the new Dread mechanic) seem far more situational.

Blood seems head and shoulders better than the others, especially those first two traits. Wonder how predisposed the AI is gonna be towards picking it. I definitely am taking the first two at least. Erudition seems kinda lame, hope that the remaining two boost learning or increase lifestyle XP gain or something at least.

I eagerly await seeing the rest of the Law tree, but Erudition also looks pretty cool. +10% councillor task progress is just so versatile, as the councillors can do so many useful things.

my only real question then is the Blood legacies.

picking a trait to breed into your dynasty is *increidbly* powerful, though it just says "more common"; so it could simply be it occurs naturally 10% of the time, but your dynasty has it 15%

but the question becomes, is it *any* trait, or just congenital traits? and if its just congenital traits, then its really just genius for serious runs, or dwarf/giant for meme runs; which makes me think, if its congenital only, then their must be many more congenital traits than in previous games, ja?

There's a congenital "sterile" (or infertile) trait kicking around.
You could lock that into your dynasty if you want to play on hard mode. :|

I hope the make genious less of a no-brainer this time around. If it doesnt give prowess you would still want strong for your warrior-kings for example. In CK2 it was simply too good to ever consider the other traits.
