There should be an option for you to create a religion for your spiritualist empire. That way when you meet other spiritualist empires there will be theological differences which can lead to conflict. It'll be fun to have crusades in space with other empires that believe in your religion. The current version of spiritualist empires are too generic. It's ridiculous that two empires can somehow co-exist peacefully with one another simply because they are spiritualist. Surely they both must have different interpretations of the universe through their respective religion and that such differences can lead to conflicts. Come on!

Anyway, I doubt this will be implemented but I just wanted to express my discontent with this game.

well it would first need to be put into the pc version of the game

but honestly i can't see this happening due to the internal computational ai that stellaris uses because it would bog the game down more than it already gets

this would just be more stuff that the game would need to factor in, not just for your empire but for any other empires in the game they may be spiritualist

It would be a cool feature to have though. Crusades and holy wars between spiritualist empires would be a fun mechanic to get embroiled in. Even if it was just a stock choice of say 4 - 6 "spiritual alignments" rather than a player-customised thing, I don't think it would add too much to the back-end processing - but I'm not a programmer, so I can't back that up. It's just speculation.
I've noticed a lot more spiritualists spawning when I play now after 2.2, and as a player who likes playing Materialist, I'm finding myself surrounded by enemies most of the time. Not that I'm complaining because the AI is laughable even on the highest difficulty, but it'd be nice if they had their own internal conflicts and wars to add more flavour to a play-through and give me more opportunities.

While it would likely hurt stability, the damage to balance would be far greater. It would mean that out of all the ethics, only one of them has multiple factions that are separated not by other ethics but by itself. In order to make this balanced you'd also need to do the same thing with every ethic, completely destroying galactic politics in the process.

"So I heard Blxnar became Egalitarian the other day."
"Really? Which kind? You know Jmrnz won't tolerate any of that new fangled Indentured Servitude Egalitarian in the house."
