May I suggest that now with DD, we have the capability to simulate the "INTEL war" with spies that some action using spies be required to trigger Anschluss / Danzig / etc. events.

perhaps Germany having too high belligerence due to spy action (global manipulation) will put pressure on Anschluss event - perhaps a modified Anschluss event where the allies have an option to intervene...

What, pray tell, do spies have to do with either the Anschluss or Danzig ? Both are essentially political actions, driven by external pressures - the presence or absence of spies makes essentially no difference.

Additionally, CORE isn't moving over to DD instantaneously in any case - the next release certainly won't be (intentionally) "DD" compatible, the one after might have some elements tweaked for DD - it kinda depends how much tweaking is required for things to work with the DD game engine.

Dear Tim:
You are quite correct to observe that these issues were political, however many politicians were reflecting tehe prostations from their constituencies.

It was my recollection that groups like the "Hitler Jugend" were used by the Germans to agitate for anschluss in Poland, Czechslovakia & Austria, by appealing to local feelings of german nationalism.

Sorry, I am dealing with doing taxes at the moment and don't have the time to look up cites, but will do so later. I think I remember these issues being revealed during the Nuremburg War Crime Trials.
