Wouldn't it be cool if each Spy you had in a country removed the Fog of War from one randomly chosen province? It could even be done at an Intel penalty, so that your information on the military units present in the province was not completely accurate.

Interesting idea.

Would that imply that you would have to have more spies for the larger countries?

Would the spies you do have rove around the enemy country gathering information?

Would they be named spies that could gain experience and have skills?

Could that mean missions are tied to provinces? e.g. tech teams would have to be based in a specific province whilst they carry out their research and a spy would have to be present to run a mission.

Would country wide missions, or assassination missions have to be carried out in the capital city? Would ministers have to be fixed to a location too?

Would units or your own spies be positioned in certain key states to protect them from other spies?

What about micromanagement of spies? Perhaps they could be set missions in a similar way as air or sea units?

This is Awsome.
My fellow gamer have talked about this one. Not in exact terms as you have laid out but yes....have the ability to really focus on a hex. I mean, what about "Lucy", "Enigma" and these other stories we are hearing about more and more.
I have talked to my friend about these things and we have discussed bringing a dice roll into our game and if it succeeds, we can totally scope out a hex or whatever.
How it can all be applied in game terms to me would be pretty easy. Just add the section to the Intelligence screen under missions and give the guy his mission. "007" is something that comes to mind for the sections name. I mean; Fleming did serve with M5 during the war didn't he?
