Spelunking in the people finder for fun and profit (or sometimes the game swings in your favor)

So I have been playing another game in Ireland (I always run a game from here after a major update or new DLC).

I found myself in need of a new Steward and there was a dearth of talent in the kingdom. So over to the people finder and looking for a decent stat with a green thumb (and always looking for a crown as well).

I happen upon a likely person, and he happens to have a strong claim on the Duchy of Gwyned (sp?) as well as others.

I bring him to my court and decide to also offload Innes Gall and then press his claim. 3 years later half of Wales is within the kingdom. And he is a content, honest and just vassal to boot. I may not even revoke Inness Gall.

The other half of Wales is already consolidated under my ruler's dynasty, so bringing it into the kingdom should not prove too difficult.

Best break I have had in this game for a while.

Yeah, sometimes the stars align and you make the right move at the right time, reaping the rewards of a well-thought and well-executed plan. And unlike the masochists, I actually consider successes like this more fun than epic fails after which you need to pick up your pieces.

I had this kind of situation in my hispania run as asturias in Viking Age bookmark, I've invited random courtier from Ummayads (the only christian in their court), married her to my courtier, and then raised her son with my character. When he was 20 I got a message that I can push his claim on Andalusia (It turned out the woman I invited had inheritable claim), so I attacked, won and finally had christian Iberia. Sometimes you just get lucky and I love this game for that

Did he convert Andalusia to Christianity, or did he get factioned out in half a year?

Well, you look for people with claims, I look for unlanded people with loads of cash so I can excommunicate, imprison and banish them to get the dough

He had revolts, but I helped him and he succeded to convert andalusia, this only took him 20 years
