Is it fair that China and Japan have the same speed of the increase of literacy like the european countries?
dozens of alphabets and thousands of characters (I assume 8 thousand) are not the same.
I spent 2 years in China to learn how to read and write, and after the third class I can still write essays.
Japanese too, their each character has at least 3 pronouncation.(while most chinese ones only one)
