Sorry if this was posted before, but I thought about what kind of Fallen Empires there may be in Stellaris and what they may prevent you to do.

There are two of which we already know the existence :

Keepers of Knowledge : They prevent you from researching dangerous technologies.

"Fallen Spiritualist Empire" : You must not settle on planets they consider "holy".

And here are some speculations about the other kind :

"Fallen Militarist Empire" : Don't become military stronger than them?

"Fallen Pacifist Empire" : Don't wage war near their borders, perharps?

"Fallen Xenophobe Empire" : Do not EVER enter their territory?

"Fallen Xenophile Empire" : Do not enslave any alien species?

As for the Collectivist and Individualist ones, I wouldn't really know what they'd prevent you to do.

Thoughts?

There are four kinds of fallen empires only at release. This is confirmed.

Keepers of Knowledge (Fanatic Materialist only, no second ethos, same for the rest)

Benevolent Observers (Fanatic Xenophile)

Holy Guardians (Fanatic Spiritualist)

Militant Isolationist (Fanatic Xenophobe)

Unless I missed it, Observers are the only one we don't have confirmation for.

Materialists hate AI.
Spiritualist guard Holy Planets, which you should definitely colonize.
Xenophobes don't want you anywhere near their systems.

As for Xenophiles, my complete guess is they react to slavery and/or purging.

Conserning lacking ethoses with Fallen Empires (DLC material?)
F. Pacifist E. is a good material for Superweapon DLC - as the one who can only react in the worst situations ever. they should be f.e. upset by building Doomsday Devices.
F. Invdividualist E. should react poorly for enslaving POPs - more POPs you enslave, more angry they are becoming.
F. Militarist E. Should react to any danger to "Galactic Balance of Power", f.e. atacking empires who expanded/conquered way too big numbers of stars.
F. Collectivists E. - I dont know... Mabe be upset for uplifting other species? You know, some "galactic law" they demand to collectively obey by all species...like "do not interfere with primitive races"?

As far as I got it the point of Fallen Empires is to significantly change the way the game plays out in their area of interest. First of all they all act like a roadblock of sorts, preventing colonization and passage by their mere precence. Further we know that materialists will contest the research of dangerous techs, and that spiritualists will contest the colonization of "holy" worlds. Xenophobes might perhaps simply work as bigger roadblocks by contesting settling near them. Xenophiles might contest "inhumane" things like indiscriminate planetary bombardment, slavery etc.

It would be cool if there was different type of Fallen empire with the same ethos.
For exemple, with Materialists we could have :
-Dormant AIs who doesn't care what you're researching but will suddenly wake up and become an absolute nightmare if an AI rebellion pops out. Friends with AI and with people who give AIs equal rights.
-Fanatic researchers who try to get all the Galaxy's secrets. They're like Keepers of Knowledge, except that they only care about rare techs. It's fine if you research killer robots, but don't you dare not share that valuable tech with them.

Actually we don't have the confirmation that they specialy hate the AI, but dangerous technologies. Could be that this one was fanatic about AI but they are still other techs labeled as to use with precaution.

Even if it's sounds cool, why would such a F.E. of sufficiently advanced mashines ever join the rebelion directed by more primite A.I.?

Maybe because they think that organic life is doomed but synthetic life can eventually become as mighty and perfect as them? I don't know.
Also, they don't exactly join the rebellion. They create it. They start financing AI factions before the rebellion happens.

Considering that Wiz mentioned in his twitter that Gaia worlds (that are holy sites) are more prevalent near Spiritualist fallen Empires, I'm betting that we'll find a lot of primitive and pre-sentient races near planets belonging to Xenophile Fallen Empires that we'll be warned that we can observe, but not touch.

Yeah, add Pacifist Fallen Empires once you add in literal "Peace Beams" that they use to stop you if you're starting too many wars.

Militarists should have a interstellar protection racket. "That world, it used to be ours, you know? You can still live there, but if you want to make sure nothing bad happens to it, I suggest you play us for... protection"

Individualist and Collectivists are the only ones I don't have a good idea for. Maybe individualists are chronic meddlers, unable to resist supporting the little guy, increasing the number and strength of factions on worlds near their borders, make them a threat/problem that isn't just "Don't do X if you don't want to tick us off". Collectivists... Fanatic Collectivists have a high slave tolerance, perhaps they constantly hire pirates and other neutral parties to abduct your pops to make as slaves? Only other idea I have is "We are the Borg Blorg, your technological and biological distinctiveness shall be added to our own, resistance is futile" ...but that doesn't sound very fallen (though maybe that could be a new late-game threat, the collectivist Fallen Empire waking up and deciding it's in the galaxy's best interest to be assimilated.)

Nah more like the militarists would be waiting for a rematch against the HAK HAK HAK
