I went to Colossal Order's website (https://colossalorder.fi/) and I found a job listing for a Platform Support Engineer. The following details are in the listing:
I remember Cities: Skylines being made in Unity 4 and being updated to Unity 5 shortly before its release. In fact, the Unity version that the game currently uses is 5.6.7, which is the final version of Unity 5. I know nothing about game development or Unity. Maybe, I should've started with that. Anyway, unless the console releases are using some later version of Unity, why would they be requesting knowledge of Unity 2020.3+ when the game uses Unity 5?
And then, there's this:
DirectX 12. Unless it's an Xbox thing, Cities: Skylines does not use DirectX 12. I remember people thinking that DirectX 12 was a magic bullet when Cities: Skylines came out a few months before the release of Windows 10.
Sorry for creepin' and peepin' on your company's website! I know that I'm more than welcome to apply, but aside from not meeting the position requirements, I have some personal circumstances that currently prevent me from applying to such a job listing.
Colossal Order is working on a new game. It is. Is it time to hop on the Cities: Skylines 3 hype train?
I will leave you with some famous quotes:
"I know not on which platforms Cities: Skylines 3 will be released, but Cities: Skylines 4 will be on sticks and stones!" - Albert Einstein
"Now I am become Poo Dam, the destroyer of cities." - J. Robert Oppenheimer
Edit: I forgot to say that I am very grateful for the game that we currently have. Cities: Skylines and SimCity 4 are the only games that I'm currently into.
