I'm watching a playthrough where the Tuber is playing as England, and they've come up against the Japanese navy around Malaysia. After a couple battles, he manually asked his ships to repair, and boy did they ever spread out all over SE Asian ports. Many went to ports of Allies, too. It's a real mess, and by that I mean he has 10 ships repairing at a port with only two docks available. It also seems when repairing at allied ports, you don't get to use all of them. It almost appears worth it to send some of the fleets with larger ships that take longer to repair, back to larger ports (8-10) in England. That way you have 8-10 ships repairing all at once.

Is there any way to specify where a ship goes for repair, other than manually telling the fleet to pause (end current mission), and then manually clicking on a port to send the ships back to a port you desire? My understanding is that if you follow this plan, they will automatically start repairing once they reach the chosen port. What strategy works best?

There is a dedicated button for setting repair priorities for ports in the production window. Or you can simply ctrl+click all small ports on the map to disable them, if you don't want to bother with all of that.

I see it now! Fantastic! There's just so much to learn about this game + all the DLC. Thank you very much!
