i have a lenovo x200t, and you overestimate the performance difference between integrated graphics generations. Victoria 1 ran, but it wasnt enjoyable speed. it was very laggy and disappointing.

Well, as I said, I ran Victoria and EU3 on slower machines than yours and enjoyed them just fine so either you have very high expectations or you have some non-GPU problem. I do expect V2 to be somewhat more demanding than EU3 though.i have a lenovo x200t, and you overestimate the performance difference between integrated graphics generations. Especially because it doesn't have nearly as many provinces as HoI3 does. I'm betting it'll run pretty fast.Uhh, no, not quite.
Vicky2 will have all the economic things going on in the background that EU3 won't have, for one, but unless Paradox have suddenly forgotten how to code, or V2 is more complicated than first appears, I'd wager that it'll easily run on lower spec machines than HoI3 does.
# 3-button mouse
Possibly only un-zoomable, as HoI3 was before one of the patches added zoom buttons. Will the game unplayable if using only a 2-button mouse?
It runs HoI3 (at least at the start; I haven't actually played during the war yet except very briefly to test some things). Note this is with Windows XP; I don't use Vista and I'm just starting to use Win 7 on a test basis. But i say for sure, that your old lenovo definitely wont run Vicky 2![]()
Vicky has less demands that hoi3.
What the heck? I was browsing Gamersgate and found Victoria 2 and according to GamersGate these are the system requirements:
# Windows XP/Vista/7.0
# Intel® Pentium® IV 2.4 GHz or AMD 3500+
# 2GB RAM
# 2 GB hard disk space, NVIDIA® GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon® X1900 video card,
# Direct X-compatible sound card,
# DirectX®: DirectX 9
# 3-button mouse, keyboard, speakers,
# Internet connection for multiplayer
# MULTI-PLAYER UP TO 32 PLAYERS
I thought Paradox said the requirements would be on par with those of HOI 3, and yet they sound much more demanding!
What the??????
Please don't tell me these are the real requirements! HOI 3 could be running faster as it it is!![]()

But seriously, no mouse-wheel? How can you survive nowadays? With "nowadays" being "since 2000"?
Part of the problem is that NVidia made over half a dozen 8800 variants, ranging between $200 performance mainstream cards to $600 8800 Ultras, which makes the 8800 a very ambiguous level of performance.
Isn't that more then enough to run Victoria 2 and get at least a fairly smooth experience?![]()
Well, according to System Requirements Lab.Com these are my specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550.
CPU: Speed: 3.10 GHz.
RAM: 5 GB.
OS: Windows 7-64 bit.
GPU: GeForce 8800 GT
GPU features:
Video RAM: 2.7 GB (Note: I suspect that the card doesn't actually have this much memory and just barrows from those 5 GB or RAM, but then again what do I know).
3D: Yes
Hardware T&L: Yes
Pixel Shader version: 4.0
Vertex Shader version: 4.0
DirectX version: 10.
