I've recently embarked on making Let's Plays on Youtube, and as such I'm wondering about the rules for posting links to such adventures in this forum - starting with the very basic, 'would posting a Let's Play link be okay?'.

I have read the AAR forum rules and guidelines, but they tend to deal heavily with the more traditional AAR method of plentiful writing accompanied with occasional image illustrations. Therefore, I feel the need to ask before actively linking (though I admittedly passively link by courtesy of my signature, apologies about that).

I do see other threads here mainly linking to Youtube, so I'm inclined to think the answer to my question is 'yes', but that brings the follow-up question on the preferred form.

Since these would be links rather than elaborate written/illustrated stories, and thus often single posts with no real follow-up, would it be better to keep them in one thread (i.e. one thread per creator - a link archive), or once-off posts per run announcing that a new Let's Play has begun?

I assume there are unwritten rules here, so hence I ask before I get myself into too much trouble. :p

The general rules for posting links to YouTube are this:

The main preference is for videos to be embedded rather than linked to. If you do link, link to the video itself. Don't post links to playlists, rather post a link to a video within that play list (if you open the video through the playlist page, the URL should contain the playlist as well). Never post links to channels.

The number of embedded/linked videos is not really something we enforce (same as images).
