When I first installed Stellaris many (many) months ago I noticed a glitch/bug when creating custom species (as well as with some of the default races).
This bug changes the portraits of the the species's leaders to that of something that doesn't resemble the custom or default design of the race being chosen. The bug is sometimes a simple color pallet change or clothing swap, while with the humans it tends to be a consistent but annoying change where whatever the gender, ethnicity, or outfit is the portrait will always return to that of the a specific human female portrait.
I've delt with this bug, by simply ignoring it, but after playing the game so long, and not being able to deal with looking at the bug on some of my races, I think it was time I see if there was a potential fix.
I appreciate your taking the time to help to try and figure out the issue, to clarify I do know that the species of a created race will not necessarily match the created leader's image, but the issue is not necessarily about the species but about the leader creation. For example I create a human male leader, but the image that is shown in game does not resemble anything close to what I created (as the following attachment will show). The problem is that the leader I am creating is not being show, but a some other random portrait is showing instead.
As you can see from the attachments, the portrait of the leader (I created) does not match up with the portrait that is shown in game for my leader. The outfit, gender, skin tone, etc does not match up.
