Hi. I built farming and mining robot templates but after upgrading to droids they all moved up to specialist jobs and the people on the planets are now working in mines again. But the robots have traits to get more minerals and food. Why are they replacing all specialists and causing unemployment?

Is it possible to prevent this? I built robots to move pops into specialist jobs to make them happier (more goods and happyness for specialists) but now they are back on farms and mines.

PS. And after adding a new template for amenities bonus the ecumenopolis was building farming bots which are useless on a planet without farms. I manually changed what they built but shouldn't the factories be smart enough to build the best template? It seemed to work with farming and mining bots where I got more mining bots with more mining districts.

If the robots are still in a Servitude state I think they can't take specialist jobs

but outside that, I don't believe there is a way to fix that issue

pops will want to move up in the world if there is a chance

There is a work around to this what you have to do is shut all the jobs down that you want filling say researchers plus jobs mining jobs. So you have a pool of unemployed pops then reopen jobs one at a time and the best pop should take the job. Tip go down the teirs. You going to want it on slowest setting as it will mess with your economy. You can shut jobs down by going to the pop screen and moving across to the right on to the list of all pops in a job. Then use the right stick to open and close jobs tc

there are times when i want to make a pop good for one thing and one thing only but then I just go "f it, they'll move around jobs...i'll just make them generally good"

i've found this more useful and have stopped bothering to make pops for specific jobs because of that
