In general, I've found using battleplans is incredibly tedious since you have to constantly babysit them. Here's a clear example of what should be a very simple pair of spearheads going wrong. The idea was to use two one-tile spearheads to encircle with tank divisions.
It's just a single tile spearhead, so you'd think it should be easy for the battleplan AI to figure out what to do, right? Just attack with everything on that one tile at once, that's it. The topmost spearhead should be attacking from two provinces to increase the width. But what happens when I click go? This happens:
One of the tanks on the upper spearhead decides to attack a completely unrelated tile up north, instead of supporting the other tanks and increasing the width on the combat I wanted. It's because of things like these that I've given up completely on using battleplans for tanks, no matter how elaborate, multi-staged plans I make, something stupid always ends up happening. Am I doing something wrong here?
