Spatial Planning with Alex
So I have been studying Spatial Planning at the Technische Universität Wien for 2 months now and I decided that I want to share my knowledge with you. I hope that you can learn something and improve your CSL experience. As for me I thought it would be a good method to solidify knowledge.
A bit to my background: I moved to Vienna 2 months ago for University. Before I was living on the countryside, where I was also raised. There I attended a high-school with a focus on economics.
Some of you might already know me from the forums, steamworkshop or as a twitch moderator (YpsilonEule). Some might even know me in real life.
Let's clarify something from the start: The term "Spatial Planning" is rather unknown. I guess "Urban and Regional Planning" is a term that explains the matter a bit better.
My approach
I want to use Cities Skylines as a tool to teach and visualize the basics. Of course the game got it's limitations, but there are quite a lot of things you can actually do. I will probably stick to just one city and improve it continuously and compare the saves to show the progress. It will be like a City Journal. If it turns out successful I am willing to make it video-based.
Keep in mind that I am no expert (yet). But I am trying to get one. So discuss with me and draw my attention to mistakes. Also I am no native speaker in English. So there might be some incorrect translations but I am trying my best to minimize them.
Mods
I will be using a limited amount of mods and share the collection here. On the one hand I want to keep the "lessons" useful for those who don't want to use a lot of mods. On the other hand I consider some mods essential for the project.
Addons
Currently I got 14 different subjects, but not all of these can be shown in Cities Skylines. Here is a list of the ones which can be used:
I hope that there is interest
"Lessons" are released when the time it allows me to.

Addons
- After Dark for the day and night cycle (Although I don't really consider it perfect) and the new transport options.
- Snowfall for the tram and the heating infrastructure.
Currently I got 14 different subjects, but not all of these can be shown in Cities Skylines. Here is a list of the ones which can be used:
- Basics of Urban Planning
- Basics of Regional Planning
- Basics of Regional Science
- Basics of Transportation Planning and Mobility
- Environmental Basics of Spatial Planning
- History and Theory of Cities
