This is my first attempt at an AAR, let me know if its crap or decent so I know if I should continute writing it.

Manuel Portela Valladares had a troubled look on his face, as well he should. Spain was in chaos. Democracy was failing; everyone was either extreme left or right. Political riots were happing all over the country. Communists killing fascists and fascists killing communists. Even Madrid wasn’t safe, this was the main reason the entire continental Spanish army was pulled into the immediate area surrounded Madrid and the city itself. Valladares face didn’t brighten when a report came in that Italy had gone to war with Ethiopia. Though he opposed it what could he do? He had to worry about Spain before he could do anything else. He invested government funds into businesses and construction began all throughout Spain of new industries. Spain’s Northwest providences however were hard to access by the military so funds were provided for infrastructure. The most troublesome event was when the French started to place divisions on the border. Valladares immediately called for the construction of land fortifications along the border with France. The French ambassador calming stated that this was for France’s own protection since it was unclear if Valladares could control the country. Valladares could see Frances point of view, his people were rioting and becoming increasing more violent. Madrid would be safe now, the finally divisions of the army had arrived. The 1st Core under the command of Field Marshall Miaja, 2nd Core under the command of Major General Rojo, 1st Armor under the command of Major General Guilloto and 1st Calvary under the command of Major General Taguena. It was clear to Valladares that the army was in need of new equipment but the research department was vastly under funded and it would take years to accomplish even a simple project. However Valladares still gave the go ahead to begin research on howitzers. March 13, 1936 was a date Valladares thought WWII would start. Germany had re-occupied the Rhineland, which was strictly forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. However when no action came by either the French or British Valladares was stunned. How could they let Germany do this? Several weeks later news came that the fortifications along the border were complete. Valladares ordered the construction of more. His reasoning had purpose, first it would provide jobs for the hungry people of Spain and second Spain would need all the fortifications it could get if the French decided to invade. June 26 was a fearful day for Valladares, Election Day. But his work paid off. Many thought that the Left or Right wing factions would gain control but Valladares wisely was able to play off each other’s fear of the other! The same amount of seats in parliament were given to the Left and Right wings. They haven’t grown but they haven’t shrank either Valladares would have to keep that in mind. On July 18, 1936 Spain exploded. Valladares nearly fell out of his chair when word of civil war reached him. He now faced what every leader feared…making war on his own people. Valladares order the army to crush the rebellion however when Field Marshall Miaja walked in a look of horror came over Valladares. He himself had not betrayed the Republic but his entire 1st Core sided with the fascists, the bulk of the army was theirs. 2nd Core, 1st Armor, and 1st Calvary remained loyal and were fighting the 1st core in Madrid and the surrounding area. They were outnumbered three to one. Valladares was determined to hold the capital no matter how bad the odds were stacked against him. three days have past and the fighting in Madrid still hasn’t ended. A low level minister handed Valladares a report. As Valladares reads it his fist slams the table. The Germans and Italians had both sent troops and supplies to the fascist! He had already asked help from England and France but they refused to send aid. However almost at the same time another report had been given to him. The Soviet Union had sent men and material to create a tank division and an infantry division! This along with the militia may be enough to turn the tide in the capital. These forces were deployed outside Madrid under the command of Miaja. Miaja was getting his forces organized when two divisions loyal to Spain arrived from Spanish Morocco. Their leader informed Miaja they couldn’t stop the take over of the province from the fascist but they were able to escape to the mainland. Now the Republic has a chance to win this war. But there was still a huge danger, the fascist still out numbered the republics army in Madrid almost three to one. Miaja would have to organize his troops quickly if they were to win the Battle of Madrid.

CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!
Just kidding, its a pretty good idea. After the Civil War what are your goals? Be careful about ending up in any alliance, your in a pretty exposed position. Any plans on re-making a new colonial South American empire?
Viva Spain!!

Good start. You might want to divide your posts into paragraphs, the one big block type thing is hard to read.

Miaja’s forces were still being organized when word came that the fascist had been defeated in Madrid! It was ironic that Spain’s believed weakness turned out to her greatest strength. The Spanish Army had little or no anti tank weapons 1st Armor played a huge role in the victory at Madrid. With little power to stop tanks the Battle of Madrid was easily won. It was clear to Valladares that the war would be won it was just a
question of when. He received word that the Spanish Air Force were fully supporting the Republic so this would speed up victory.

However the Navy proved not to be so loyal. The bulk of the fleet went with the fascists leaving the Republic with a handful of subs and destroyers. This proved a problem as no transports meant that reinforcements from Spain’s oversea territories could arrive. The war was now going well 1st Calvary went south and took back all the rebel provinces back into the Republic. 2nd Core went west while 1st armor went east. The newly reformed 1st Core was stationed in Madrid until it could be better organized. 1st Armor was taken by surprise in Zaragoza by four infantry divisions and one armored division. 1st Core was sent from Madrid to reinforce 1st Armor. It would take 1st Core three days to reach its destination in the meantime 1st Armor was taking a pounding. 1st Core arrived just in time and the battle ended quickly. 1st Armor was reinforced with another tank division and Lieutenant General Sarabia took command.

It was decided to attack the fascist capital at Burgos. 1st Core and 1st Armor hit hard and fast but were crushed. When word reached Valladares of the defeat he was shocked to say the least. Victory would be harder than he had expected. The shattered Republican Army fell back to Zaragoza where it was reinforced and reorganized. The fascist army was much larger and stronger than originally thought. The fascist were sweeping into the northern providences unopposed. It looked as if all was lost. But then an idea came to Valladares. He ordered 1st Calvary into Madrid for protection then sent 1st Armor, 2nd Core and 1st Core into Valladolid. They meant three enemy divisions, the Republic’s sheer numbers wore them down. However Valladares’ plan was not to simply take this province. The Fascists began to send in more divisions to Valladolid…piece meal. The Republic Army was able to easily defeat them all. The fascist army had been beaten and the road to Burgos was laid bare!

1st Core, 2nd Core, and 1st Armor raced towards Burgos with all possible speed. A small fascist force arrived shortly before 1st Armor but collapsed upon the 1sts arrival. Valladares breathed a sign of relief. 1st Armor proceeded to race for the undefended province of Virgo. When 1st Armor took control of Virgo the rebellion collapsed. With no key provinces under the fascist control their supporters panicked and cut their funding. The fascist Navy and Army returned to under the Republic’s control. The rebellion was over and the country came out a united Spain.

With the rebellion crushed the military was to be reorganized. 1st Armor was reinforced with another tank division. Field Marshall Miaja’s 1st Core was reinforced and its current strength was now at twelve infantry divisions. 2nd Core now contained two infantry divisions and one mountaineer division. Spain was at peace and the people were happy but nonetheless Valladares was furious. Not only had Italy and Germany both openly supported the rebels but also the major democratic powers, France and England, sent no aid what so ever. Communist feelings throughout the country began to increase, after all the Soviet Union did send aid and even divisions over to assist Spain. So what would Valladares do now? His decision was to build up Spain’s industrial might and to research heavily into the infantry.

January 1st came around and Spain had built many more industries. However Valladares over looked a huge problem…Spain’s resources. Spain didn’t have enough coal or steel to sustain these new industries for long. Valladarres had a decision to make should he simply let it go and use the new IC to fund his research until his resources run out? Or should he build more industries, which would cut his countries IC in half and give him another year to find new sources of coal and steel? Valladarres thought long and hard on the issue. He decided to keep the extra IC and not build more industries. He would simply take the resources when the people would allow war. Should he build more industries and not be able to gain any new sources of resources Spain’s problem would be twice as great.

On June 22, 1937 Valladarres placed 1st Core, 2nd Core, and 1st Armor along the border with France in case hostiles broke out. 1st Calvary remained in Madrid for protection. Research was going along nicely and that was good for Valladarres he would need all he could get for his plans. Two months after the move of the army, Spain’s coal supplies were drained and industrial out put fail sharply. Valladarres could only wait until his people were ready for war. This would also give him time to research more better weapons for his army which was vastly outdated.

March 26, 1938 was an interesting day in history. Germany annexed Austria while France and England did nothing. Also on the other side of the world war had broken out between Japan and China. The US’s open door policy seemed to have been forgotten and US forces did nothing. They have sunk so far into isolation they couldn’t see the dangers growing in the world. September 26, 1938 the Germans signed the Treaty of Munich, which placed much of Czechoslovakia under German control. On March 15, 1939 all of Czechoslovakia was annexed by Germany! But still France and England did nothing what would it take for them to move against Germany? On September 2, 1939 Europe exploded Germany invaded Poland. The allies declared war on Poland in turn. Valladarres hoped this would cause war spirit in his country so he could get moving with his plans. Spain desperately needed coal and he new just from where to take it.

Where?!?! Are you gonna unite Iberia, and then from there, make New Spain in South America (Go for Venezuela, they have plenty of oil, and then after that, go for Brazil, they have lots and lots of rubber). Whatever your plan is, good luck.
