I had like 200% inflation because i went bankrupt so many times recruiting mercenaries against all of my rebels and fighting a war against Russia, Spain, and the Ottmans at the same time.
(I was France and owned Germany and Italy and most of the British Isles, along with Norway.)

maekh, what did you do to get 30% inflation? i'm playing Spain right now, its 1528 and I'm on my way to colonizing all of South America, and my inflation is 0. I got mayors early but even before that my inflation never went above 2%. I really try not to get any inflation, am I the only one who does that?

Cause people often say they get alot of inflation though I find it ridiculously easy to avoid inflation unless you area small country with lots of gold provinces.

Did you play from 1419? The gold from toledo can be quite a pain in the ass the first years until you improve your production
