What happens if nature calls?
Seems a bit harsh to have my hard earned Empire collapse because it lost a war while it's leader (me) was dropping the kids off at the pool (if you'll pardon my French).

You know what's more boring than speed 5 cruising with pauses?

Speed 2 without pauses. There's a reason if I don't play MP - it's one of the most boring experiences imaginable, to me.

Next patch Johan should eliminate the ability to execute any orders while paused. Then all the ones who talk about having "skills" or being "bored" will be happy. Yes or no?

Reinterpretation: "I am mad at all these other posts and threads complaining about the game since it does not align with wot I think so I will post something to relieve myself of this stress by making a sarcastic remark, subtly jabbing at them!" ;)

What I agree on:

No commands on events. Because its such a cheap shot to move your units into a province, click accept and the rebels have to fight you in mountains.

CK II does it too, why not EU IV ?

You take two people who do the same job equally as good, but it takes one 6-months to finish and the other 3-months. Which has more skill?

Have you ever played a game without pausing no matter what, excluding real world?

depends on the job. if someone is going to build the spaceship im going to use to get to mars that has to be finished in 6 months, i'd prefer him taking his time, double chekkign everything, not being rushed, rather than someone who manages to finish it very quickly.

like i stated multiple times before, this is an grand strategy game. not an rts. the time you take doing stuff is NOT an factor. heck, if you DONT pause youre just playign worse as you cannot minmax on an day to day basis.

its not like i want to forbid you from playign without pausing. however, foricing that playstyle on everyone because that is your defenition of skill is just stupid. the great majority of people pauses often. im willign to bet that the geat majority of the (objectivly) best players of the game pause a lot and dont rush themselves. there's a guy that did an WC in CKII in 9 years. he paused. A LOT. ddrjake conquered the world with ryuku. he paused. A LOT.

i seriously doubt that, no matter how quick you play, that same feat is possible on constant speed. simplt because there is SO much information you need to check and SO much stuff you have to do. limiting that while paused simply isnt good for the game in any way at all. pausing a lot is simply a part of paradox games. that you want to play it diffrently is your choice, and you are free to do that. but dont force that down everyones throath even though the vast majority likes pausing.

Your argument falls apart in the 1st paragraph because I said "equally good". Your CK and Ryuku examples, while maybe impressive, would be even more so without pausing the game! How you could argue that.. I have no idea?

If there is SO much information and SO much stuff that you must pause to digest, don't complain when you lack things to do when unpaused!

Gonna have to disagree with ya. To me at least, the most exciting parts of Eu4 are when you get blasted with events, wars, ect all at once and you have to pause and decide your strategy for a few minutes!

What? Three less cannons can absolutely make or break you.

I'll take a full back row of cannons over Prussian ideas anyday

If your war can be turned by a few cannons in the back row then you don't have enough troops or manpower. I can beat Prussia without ever winning a fight. I regenerate 100k manpower a year. What exactly can Prussia do to me?

By the time cannons are critical to combat efficiency you should be big enough that you can win with any half way competent composition. Why do you think none of the LPers who do huge empires ever spend much time optimising precise compositions?

-_-

those are some of the best players of PI games. they know what theyre doing. heck, its not even possible to do what they do even on the lowest speed because there is just such an hilarious amount of things to micro.

besides, im not even asking for more stuff to do. thats entirely not the point here. you want to remove pausing. i give you arguments why it shoudltn. you fail to give an serious answer and ignore them all, instead going for the strawman attack. unless you are willing to actually discuss stuff, dont amke a thread aksign wether people like it, then refusing to participate normally in the discussion when people dont agree.

On the original topic. Somebody really needs to fix Chess. Damned idiots with their pausing. I think there should be a 20 second move timer and the player has their eyes removed whenever the game is paused. How can they claim skill when they can take a literal week to make a move!?

You are the one dodging the point and not willing to answer any questions I pose. I will just count you as a NO and not waste anymore time with you.
