is there already anything know how space combat between fleets will be handled?
Will there be a kind of tactical combat (doubt it), EU/CK kind of combat or will it be more like HOI combat?
Can you give orders to your commanders how they should fight?

Any info would be very welcome.

This much has already be clarified. You do not have direct control over the combat. Once combat has begun, you will have a chance to make an "emergency jump" and exit the battlespace.

Think your only influence is what ships are in the fleet, telling them to attack, telling them to runaway, and assigning an admiral for his skill bonuses.

The combat has a pretty fine-grained mechanical model, but the player has very limited control. That is, every individual beam blast and missile is modeled, ships have individual hitpoints and shields, etc. But the player tactical control is basically tell the fleet to go here, or get the heck out of Dodge.
