I know this has already been suggested in so many other speed-up requests, but I think just this one change alone (which has to be massively simple compared to more elaborate animation/movement/etc. speed-ups) would already be a big/quick win.

It makes zero sense to make people watch takeoffs/landings/jumps for the hundredth time without being able to skip.

Other speed-up changes also very welcome of course. I'm perfectly fine with most of the game myself (really loving it actually), but I have many friends who are fence-sitting because they keep reading about the sluggishness of pace.

Bumping this with an extra comment. I want to hop around the sector just to check out planets, and even their stores. Travel time to a new location is about 2 minutes. While that doesn't seem like much abstractly, staring at the screen for 2 minutes while nothing interactive is happening isn't why I'm playing the game.

30 seconds should be the limit for anything except cut scenes (which have all be good story thus far).

Also, multiple jumps extends that purgatory of staring at the screen. If I have to travel through multiple planets, can there be a simple time line advancing screen? That way I can interact with events that complete without having to watch the same hyperspace jump sequence X times.
