It is true about the partisans. Although partisan activity would drop each month, and garrisons could easily be built with the manpower.

Also, slowly the worthless Far East provinces could be given to Japan, to enable operation to be carried out on the West Front.

Are you sure it's clever to brigade all your units? I thought they were not worth the IC so wouldn't it be better to use those resources for Infantry, Interceptors or Tanks for example. In all researches I've read the thumb rule seems to be not to brigade vanilla infantry. If you brigade them, you will also have to research the brigades.

If nothing else, I'm sure the strategy is viable without building brigades?

I don't either see the point of not building any airforce. I think you should at least build a large force of Interceptors. Otherwise the German CAS:s will destroy your retreating divisions to the last man. That's what happened in my last multiplayer game.

MNT(+ART) are quite nasty troops for the SU btw. General winter has a big stick in DD/Arma, but with these guys, you can show the germans how to fight a winter war! :D
Defence efficency 200%+ is common for these folks.

Im sure alot of you people think that a 1940 attack on Russia happens [/IMG]

In most of our games sofar there have been a state of war between SOV and GER from spring 40. Either because GER have managed to crush france fast and started barbarossa early,or much more common, SOV declare war on ger to help out allies from going down the drain.

So My thoughts on mobilizing the sovjet army have allways been that you have to be ready for first engagements in spring 40.

Not ready as in rolling to berlin in three weeks and dow the world, spreading the revolution, but halfway to total war mobilization.

Either in a defensive role, or doing a preemptive strike, trying for the rumania event and setting up a line köningsberg, warzaw down to carpathians.

The red army is completey worthless in the begining as I have painfully learnt, al the better then to get more territory to trade for time :p

edit. on brigades, i like brigades. But my primary fear as SOV player against cooperative played germany is to get overrun by their more mobile forces, thus losing divisions.
So anything that is slowing down my infantery gets me very nervous.

But AC on your MOT is godsend as rapid defence units.

/C

(but basically the 36 scenario is not a very good idea in MP, If you happen to have skilled players on both france, UK and sov, were UK and france actually cooperate. germany is doomed.)

note on cooperation between allies, yes, I have been part of a game were the UK players didnt do much to help the french player, who withstood 2 very experienced germany players from okt 39 until may 40 (no fortresses built at all but 150 divisions of inf handled in a very skillfull way,UK got sealöwed a couple of months after the fall of france

I tried this strategy of building 5 rounds of factories at did work well. My total army size was only 385(12 tanks altogether and 17MTN), but I still had 1900 manpower left. I also built an airforce of 34 interceptors and 8 CAS.

I had 682 IC at that time, of which 500 can be used for production. I broke your record

I think thewretchedmass built less air? Although cas spammage with il2 sturmoviks is also a rather strong strategy in multiplayer. Only the strongest of enemy stacks remain safe, with german player also needing air craft to guard the reich against brits.

CAS:II would be somewhat techrush-able, you wont have time for cas doctrines though. Bah theyre worthless anyways, only extra org and like one tech that gives more attack power? CAS are also so cheap that its almost a sin not to start something like 4 series of them. Besides theyre drop dead awesome

Although you must have the first CAS-tech, as it gets ground attack to 100%, for the rest you could argue having more org is actually bad for bombers.
AFAIK the more org, the longer the airbattles will be, something which is a bad thing for bombers being intercepted by fighters.

UK will have air superiority over germany even if germany invests half of its ic into FTR.Impossible to have air superior on both fronts.
