I wanted to know if someone could explain this.

I am trying several games as Democratic Japan. I win the civil war, form the WPTO, invite Korea, all that. Manchuria is independent and fascist. However, I notice that EVERY game I play as Dem. Japan, the USSR attacks Manchuria. This wouldn't be all that unreasonable, except that Germany invites Manchuria to the Axis, Germany gets embroiled in war with the USSR by 1938, and get absolutely kahooted before the game can get fun.

The USSR doesn't get a national focus against Manchuria, or now called "Imperial Kwantung Territories". I rarely if ever see an AI manually justify a claim before. Does the USSR fabricate its own claim, or do they get an event to attack Manchuria?

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with this if Germany didn't go potato and invite Manchuria into the Axis, or if Germany had the brains to not declare war on the Western Allies if embroiled in war with the USSR. I didn't pick Democratic Japan pick up a broom with Britain and America and mop up the blood stains.

I saw this happen in a recent game while playing as France with non-historical AI. First time I watched Japan go Democracy and I was all happy thinking Japan might join the Allies. It was about 3 months later that the Soviet Union declared war on Imperial Manchuria. AI might have a script for the USSR to go to war with Manchuria should it become independent. I have not played as Manchukuo yet but I now wonder if you break from Japan to become independent if you have to fight Japan and then a USSR invasion.

There might be a focus conflict somewhere, it happens in the alternative paths sometimes.

Bug report it so they can fix it in 1.5.2.

On this topic. If one of the Alternative History Focus invites a nation that you're at peace with, but the rest of the faction is at war with, will they join the said faction. I was wondering because in my democratic Germany game, I just completed the Central European Alliance focus and am preparing to go expand the Allies, but since Norway and Sweden are already in the Comintern, which is at war with the Allies. Will the flip factions?
