Update nr.162
The most important news of the day - Soviet Union has THE bomb!
It is clear by now that Allies won't surrender, despite their many defeats.
This war generates huge profits for them so why stop it? That's why
Soviet Union will be forced to go nuclear on their asses sooner or later.
But i can't waste this advantage right away. The arsenal must be
expanded and one lethal blow must be delivered to the enemy.
Then, and only then, there is a slight chance that the Allies will consider peace.
On July 19th, Zhukov secured Mogadishu and continued with an attack
on Bardera. The Red Army was exhausted, but there was no time to spare,
since Americans unloaded a huge number of divisions in Tanzania.
Zhukov's tanks were first to fight, but they lasted the longest.
After the first day of fighting Soviet infantry had no more influence
on the outcome of the battle. Yet Zhukov continued the attack
and destroyed the largest Allied pocket in Africa so far.
This is the new Africa: the advance in the West is slow due to the inhospitable terrain,
and the advance in the East is slow due to heavy Allied resistance. Red Army has even been pushed back to the North.
But that's a temporary delay - Zhukov is already on his way!
Note that Allied garrison in Sicily had died [?] from starvation caused by the loss of Gibraltar.
VDV is sent to Italy to recapture the island.
And here is an overview of the Far East: The American advance in Borneo is stopped.
The Red Navy is resting and rearming in Vladivostok so all the naval operations are halted.
This gave time for Americans to reinforce all their islands, especially, the Bangka island
[the one with 80 US divisions on it].
Three Soviet divisions are standing by and waiting for them to attack,
but Americans are hesitating for a month now.
Bangka island could be a perfect place to show Americans the power of the new Soviet weapon.
But is it worth it? Those divisions are stuck there anyway...
