Trustworthy gang...

About Arabia: Good that the King (doesn't Saudi Arabia have a king, rather than a sheik?), gave his country to global communism.

About the drive along the Med.: I see that you are planning for the paradrop on Gibraltar; how many paras do you have?

About the US of A: Pretty  that the US has been able to pull out more troopers to fight from their society than you have from yours. You have:
1. Larger population. 2. Totalitarian government. 3. Leadership in a world revolution, while they aren't even in danger themselves yet. ;)

Actually, USSR has more people under arms than USA.
The problem is that 250 divisions of those are on anti-partizan duty, which leaves USA with larger combat-capable force.

Maybe I should stop posting on impulse. :eek:o Thank you for correcting me.

You know how much a coup attempt costs, right? And you need to load them up with spies to have a shot at it.

Update nr.150

The Red Army push the Yemenis back where they came from, but that's not enough.
It is time to bring the war to their homeland.

saanakn4.png

The Yemenis couldn't stop the experienced Soviet soldiers and
abandoned their capital. Yemen ceased to exist on December the 1st,
but their soldiers continued the fight under the British flag.

yemenre7.png

With no more available troops the majority of Soviet soldiers from Yemen
are redeployed to Dubai. After a lengthy trip across the desert they arrive and join
Iraqi army in their operation "Desert Storm" - the assault and capture of Mascate.
Can't let a cool name go to waste...

mascatemj6.png

The operation is a success and Iraq claims the lands of Oman few days later.

mascate2aw5.png

The traitor armies continue to resist, but that's just a minor issue. Saudi Arabia, Oman and local British
colonial possessions are handed over to Iraq - let the Arabs rule themselves, as long as they fight the right foes.
But Yemen will stay under Soviet control. The naval base in Aden might come in handy in the future.

meiraqjs3.jpg

Soviet soldiers desperately searched Iraq for weapons of mass destruction.
Someone "well informed" told Khruschev that they had some developed, but, unfortunately,
none were found so Soviet Union will have to continue with their own nuclear program.

Thus the nuclear research facility in Omsk continues to grow.

nr4sv3.png

And, after a long pause, some news from the Eastern Front. Well, the front didn't move an inch,
but that's not the news. The news are that a plan has been developed. A plan to destroy the entire Allied army in Asia in one blow!
The Allies most likely expect the Soviets to attack from China, hence they stacked dozens of divisions there,
making any breakthrough impossible. So i am going to strike in Burma - land in all the beaches simultaneously
and cut off the Allies both from reinforcements and supplies!

burmaju0.jpg

I have been monitoring the beach garrisons for some time now
and their numbers are constantly changing due to heavy flow of Allied
reinforcements. That means that the success of the invasion
depends on the success of the naval blockade.

The invasion forces are gathered in Saigon from all around the Soviet Union.
Now all i need is some more transport ships.

invasionfzg5.png

This will be either the greatest victory or the greatest defeat.

Some more interesting news come from Europe.

Canadians and French bombed Netherlands so badly that their IC dropped to 0,
their newly built ships were sunk as soon as they left the dry docks and their divisions suffered
extensive damage until they could dig-in.

So the Soviet air fleet was informed and 16 squadrons of fighters/interceptors were
ordered to patrol the skies over Netherlands. The bombings ceased immediately, but four squadrons
separated from the others and were intercepted instantly. Two air squadrons were destroyed
on the spot and one had only 5 planes left after this incident!

1953 was the year for the Red Navy, 1954 will be the year for the Red Air Force...

airbattledx8.png

More bad news came from Sicily. The British invasion did not grow,
unlike i expected, so instead of evacuating i decide to attack the small Allied beachhead.
But the Sicilian Independence Army [a.k.a. Mafia] had a little surprise planned for me...

mafiauc8.jpg

They bribed the unbribable Soviet pilots who "missed" their targets completely.
With no air support the VDV commandos were massacred in thousands.

sicily1gp3.png

The culprits will be found and punished, but the damage is done.
Weakened Soviet soldiers abandon Palermo and retreat to the mainland Italy.
This came as a surprise to me, since i thought they couldn't be saved.
The Allies had no ships present in the strait and the retreat was successful.

Surely this mans that an attack could be also successful. 15 Bulgarian
divisions from France and Northern Italy were deployed to guard the strait
and attack when possible.

sicily2bi6.png

During the retreat a group of naval bombers was ordered to scare away
any big enemy fleets. The same US carrier fleet was encountered, but this time
the Soviet bombers performed rather well. One enemy carrier was almost
destroyed and several other were damaged! And all that during one sortie!

cv2xn2.png

This could be the answer to the American carrier problem - lots and lots of naval bombers!
Thousands of them! So many, that the sky would turn black when they approach. The share terror
of this spectacle should make the sailors jump overboard.

Good idea. The Soviets were great at amphibious invasions, everyone how've played WiC knows that. Why did the Mafia object to your rule? I don't get it. ;)

From my experience and the number of carriers deployed I would suggest 16 naval bomber squadrons. Your biggest issues will be finding a good killing ground and remembering to monitor bomber casualties. You will need to periodically put badly damaged squadrons into a rest airbase to recover from damage taken.

In his latest update, the SU had about 7500 $, which is pretty good, but it's just that coups are extremely expensive, and even with ten spies, the chances are most often just 5 %.

ive played USSR (inspired by this aar) and it took me about 2 years to penetrate a country with 10 spies. and then couping the nation can cost about 500 with the correct minister. in terms of the 130 indian divisions, it might be worth the effort.

He may try if he wish, it's just that I haven't had any satisfying experiences with coups.
