Update nr.105
Japanese leadership escaped to Amami, but that won't protect them
from the fury of the Soviet Union. Three divisions are quickly prepared to take this island by force
and, accompanied by one of the battleship fleets, they leave Tokyo harbor late at night.
When my ships approach Amami, they are spotted by the enemy destroyers.
Most of them are sunk, but some escape and probably will warn the Emperor and his cronies.
If i want to capture the Emperor i have to strike now!
Soviet soldiers storm the beaches, while IJN sends more destroyers to intercept the transport ships.
But the battle-proven Soviet battleships quickly deal with them and my first wave of soldiers reaches the land safely.
The garrison is defeated, but the islands isn't under Soviet control yet.
Things get more complicated shortly after the victory.
Two IJN fleets respond to Emperor's call for help and arrive near Amami.
Some US ships also get involved, when their routine ASW mission
turns into a naval battle of the century.
The share amount of Japanese ships scared the sh*t out of me,
but after few hours of fighting i noticed how demoralized and weak the enemy really is.
My battleships began tearing their navy apart and after 18 hours of fighting
the enemy ship number decreased by 10! One of the IJN carriers came so close,
that it got shelled repeatedly until it tipped over.
At the end of the night the surviving enemy ships retreated,
leaving the ocean full of dead bodies and burning wrecks. This is more
than i have ever expected from my battleships.
The news quickly reach Moscow and all the captains and sailors of the 14th fleet
become the new heroes of the Soviet Union.
And what makes this victory even more sweeter, is the fact
that Red Navy didn't lose a single ship. Only one battleship was heavily damaged
and towed back to Tokyo for repairs.
But this battle distracted me long enough for the Japanese elite to escape.
They snuck past the Red Navy and sailed to Marcus island - their last national province
and probably my next target.
