B]Update nr.104[/B]
In the morning of September the 8th, thick clouds of smoke blocked the rising sun,
when hundreds of Soviet tanks and thousands of regular infantry charged the suburbs of Tokyo.
The time has come to strike the Japanese where it really hurts...
The land was frozen, but the rivers of hot blood quickly melted the ice.
The deeper the Red Army attacked, the more resistance it faced. When it got dark
the moral crumbled and three Soviet divisions, that were the first to engage
the Japanese, retreated from the city.
That was the sign to send in the second wave of soldiers.
11 fresh Soviet divisions joined the battle, but that still wasn't enough to crush
the Japanese resistance. Field Marshal Timoshenko and his HQ was almost forced to retreat too,
but somehow he managed to keep his men together in such a hostile environment.
Everyone was a potential enemy, even the children and the elderly.
Three days and two waves later Tokyo surrendered,
but by that time Hirohito and Tojo fled the capital and continued
to rule the remainders of the Japanese empire from Amami.
Meanwhile, Soviets and Koreans celebrated the greatest victory of them all.
Two nations, united by one ideology and one enemy, learned how to cooperate in the most extreme
of situations. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship...
Soviet Union lost 53 000 soldiers in Tokyo, but that didn't spoil the joy of victory.
Celebrations were held in all the capitals of Soviet republics. Only the residents of Rome and Berlin
were suspiciously quiet.
And here is the map of Europe. You can see all the new Soviet republics. Notice that Germany,
Austria, Italy and Northern Yugoslavia is under direct Soviet control for safety reasons. Forts [purple squares],
coastal forts [green squares] and new air bases [red squares] are also being built in various important
locations to guarantee protection from foreign enemies, whoever they might be.
An insane amount of radars are being produced and will be deployed
all over the Soviet Union, mostly in Europe. New interceptors combined with these radars
will stop foreign powers, whoever they might be, from bombing our cities.
But the best defense is offense, so Stalin personally orders to expand the VDV.
These men, when trained, will be ready to quickly respond in case of an invasion from abroad,
cutting the enemy supply lines and capturing their airfields.
But the war in the East is not over yet.
Island hopping anyone?
