I thnk second story with Gastilovich is correct one. Noone is clear-minded in Soviet army. Yuo are drunk or dead. Only two choices, no more .

Update nr.35
The Soviet Union is growing stronger every day.
Soon i will bring war to the German lands.
But now my priority is to completely destroy the German army.
From my experience i know that Germans are afraid of closed spaces.
A pocket in Sumy will be a nightmare for them.
Red cavalry takes Priluki and my tanks assault the trapped Germans.
Surprisingly i find Kiev empty, but unfortunately it is beyond the reach of my trasport planes
stationed in Rostov.
I rebase planes closer to the front.
As soon as their org recovers we will see some para action.
Five German divisions are destroyed, only two of them are worth destroying.
The others would have eventually died anyway.
In retaliation Germans attack Poltava and they bring some fresh divisions.
Seeing that Poltava won't hold on its own i call in reinforcements from the surrounding provinces.
Let's hope they will make it on time.
The battle is intense, but i manage to delay the Germans. What luck!
It gives my reinforcements time to arrive and when they do the battle is over immediately.

Red Army is trying to take back Melitopol. In the past two weeks
there were a lot of battles for this province. This is the 4th time i'm assaulting it.
I am bound to win this time.
Uh, oh! Germans have a shitload of panzers in Melitopol. And i have only 100% pure leg infantry.
This will be a meat grinder.
I win the battle, but suffer great losses. It will take time for my troops to recover.
Three hours later i get this message from Melitopol:
After countless battles the infrastructure was destroyed completely,
so no wonder why i can't hold this province. Now i will have to wait until
infrastructure recovers atleast to 20% and then try again.
While my offensive in the South is temporary bogged down i start a small
offensive near Moscow. The goal of this offensive is to encircle 10+ German divisions in Noginsk
and drive the Germans as far away from Moscow as possible.
Victory is achieved within hours:
Notice the new and the old pockets.
As usual Germans move deeper into the new pocket, but this will only delay their annihilation.
Meanwhile Guderian is proving to be a real menace.
While being totally isolated from Berlin, he still managed to successfully counterattack my forces. And when i finally
pushed him to the banks of Volga he resisted fanatically and survived three attempts to crush him.
I had to call 8 bomber squadrons to soften up his forces and still he managed to win.
Now this is crazy...
Other than that everything is going as planned.
Oh, and notice that i am trying to take Melitopol for the fifth time.

Don't take too much care about Guderian. His supply line is cutted of and his troops starve to death in time. When you get new forces, put them to Finnish front and beat Finland.

Maybe he led an all infantry corps. They don't need fuel, so they were sumply running on their strength.
Nah, Guderian has 5 panzer and 3 motorized divisions under his control. And he reached Volga before i encircled him
