Alright, I think i have been putting off updating this for too long. Time to continue. I am going to have to use imageshack instead of photobucket though, since photobucket is being stupid again.
Soviet jet aircraft begin to fly air superiority missions over spain, and encounter something very odd. The Spanish airforce is using old German built Bf-109 fighters! The old german built planes are nothing more than cannon fodder to the Red Air Force.
Warsaw pact forces move deeper into spain, with Hungarian armoured divisions, who are interestingly equipped with hundreds of looted German Panthers, providing the spearhead.
The spanish airforce shows up again, this time with obsolete Heinkel 111 bombers! Clearly, Franco has not done a very good job funding his airforces.
A hungarian armoured corps moves too far ahead, and is counter attacked by spanish troops and armour. The battle is a very interesting one, with modern American built Patton tanks being used by the spaniards against older ex-wehrmacht panthers, who surprisingly are able to hold their own until large amounts of soviet infantry arrive.
Chinese warships battle with an american battleship, the
USS Washington, off hainan island. Although the battleship escapes, it is soon destroyed by chinese land based aircraft.
Soviet troops march towards the Spanish Capital, breaking spanish defenses at Guadalajara.
The island of stornoway, the last holdout of allied forces in the british isles, is cleared out by soviet troops, who take fairly heavy casualties trying to storm the island, which the allies had practically turned into a fortress.
A Hungarian spearhead moves too fast into Guadalajara too far ahead of the rest of the army, and is counterattacked by Spanish forces, who are led by General Franco himself. Although the Hungarians are outnumbered, they hold their positions long enough for soviet reinforcements to arrive. (i swear the old Hungarian panthers travel faster than my modern T-54's!)
A huge US navy carrier task force led by Admiral Reeves moves into european coastal waters, forcing all soviet ships in the area to flee into the Baltic sea. Although they are harassed by soviet land based bombers, they only sustain light damage, and no carriers are sunk.
Soviet troops move to cut off the northern spanish coast, facing intense resistance by dug in spanish forces at Burgos, who are eventually forced to retreat.
