Another case of: History is written by the victors.
Please remember that under the banner of "socialism" more people were killed in modern history then by the Fascists.

Please have in mind that under the banner of capitalism more people were - and are - being killed than by both other banners. A child dies of malnutrition every few seconds.

on topic: there are many events missing for the post war period for all the countries, a fact which makes the game not enjoyable past '44 the most.
I have played with all majors for years, sometimes I tried to go as historically as possible to get a nice "cold war turns hot" game, but there was seldom anything arranged without bugs.
Especially with this Vichy France surviving, or all the post-war borders being messed up!
These are things needed to get fixed ASAP, and DH is a good opportunity.

I was under the impression that the Poles and the Ukrainians tried to secure independence for Ukraine in the 1920's... and nearly succeeded. I'm pretty sure that the Ukrainians did not like being starved to death in the 30's by stalin, so i really doubt the Ukrainians in East Poland wanted to be part of the Soviet Union..
Well, some of them did anyway. There certainly was a movement for Ukrainian independence in both wars, including partisans fighting against the USSR in WWII (sometimes in direct cooperation with the Germans, even). How Poland might have treated the Ukrainians had they achieved a clear victory in the Soviet-Polish war is anyone's guess; maybe they'd have kept their promises to the Ukrainians, maybe they'd just have been the foreign occupier du jour.

Please have in mind that under the banner of capitalism more people were - and are - being killed than by both other banners. A child dies of malnutrition every few seconds.

Sure, its common knowledge that the more "capitalist" the economy is, the more kids die of malnutrition. It just takes a glance on the list of economies grouped by economic freedoms, to realise that its a true horrific fact. The top 20 countries on the list of economic freedom are:
1 Hong Kong 89.7
2 Singapore 87.2
3 Australia 82.5
4 New Zealand 82.3
5 Switzerland 81.9
6 Canada 80.8
7 Ireland 78.7
8 Denmark 78.6
9 United States 77.8
10 Bahrain 77.7
11 Chile 77.4
12 Mauritius 76.2
13 Luxembourg 76.2
14 Estonia 75.2
15 Netherlands 74.7
16 United Kingdom 74.5
17 Finland 74.0
18 Cyprus 73.3
19 Macau 73.1
20 Japan 72.8
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_economic_freedom#Current_ratings)

Each and every of these countries are very much responsible for..well, everything. Those Estonians, Swiss and damned Luxemburgians are so good at causing malnutrition for children, its just awful, isnt it. A typical New Zealandian and Canadian kid is well..non existant, since all die of malnutrition! And it takes so much time for each Singapurian to go to some African country.. take all the food, then fly back home..no wonder kids are malnutritioned during that "oh I'll just go and steal some more food for lunch from those that dont have it" time. And everybody knows that USA has never fed itself, its just stealing and importing..then some more stealing and importing food, food and some more of food. Especially those traditional African corn, potato and burger stuffs. Bit of oil for a snack, together with Irish and greeks from Cyprus. And when they're stuffed themselves, they just go on holidays burning all the leftover food in the well..everywhere else.

But the bottom of this list with least "capitalist" economies:
175 Venezuela 37.6
176 Eritrea 36.7
177 Cuba 27.7
178 Zimbabwe 22.1
179 North Korea 1.0

Have allways been known for growing huge kids. Malnutrition is something that is banned there, since it can't exist anyways (no capitalist economies, d'oh!), so..why bother with allowing that word, would just rise silly questions. No wonder North Korea taking the lead there!

P.S. I know I'm just feeding a troll by lowering to his/her level and actually commenting post by a mad man, but, oh well, the last communist wannabes and commy-romantics are still some frustrating fun.

On the topic: historically, Soviets were generally indeed welcomed or accepted neither in Eastern Poland, neither in the Baltic States.

I was talking about Socialism and Fascism, not Capitalism.

I agree with Ithron, it werent the Capitalists that starved the Ukrainian population to death in the 30's. I used to have many little fish, about 70, and in one week only 10 were left, sme will happen with earth: At a turning point in the near future 70% of the world population (probably Africa) will die, just because the carrying capacity of earth isnt for 10.000.000.000. people. Not even the most communist, socialist country cant prevent that, it just life. Too bad for them. I love Capitalism, it forces lazy people to work too and spending there live with my tax money but having the same car, house, clothes and other things.

Ontopic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_People's_Republic and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Ukrainian_People's_Republic Unlike modern days people's republics these were democratic!

I would like to stay on topic fellows, despite the insults.

OffTopic= I never claimed "Economic Freedom" is proportional to malnutrition. All countries nowadays are part of an economic system which extracts resources from all the world so that a few fat grown westerners like me can have complex electronic devices to play computer games on 'em. It is hard to understand how this system works without proper education. And it is even harder to even try to avoid this exploitation, considering the major power's interventionism.
I do not tend to compare Hong Kong, Singapore's and Luxemburg's functions with those of the US, France or Russia.
Isn't it magnificent that whoever claims that the current socio-economic system is not the best, gets condemned as "mad", "communist wannabe" or "commy-romantic"?

On -topic= This is a game, and events created make it better.
Some things are abstract for the purpose of game balance.
Let us not discuss about who is the rightful owner of X-province, let us propose events that makes the game better.
I don't want to know about the former eastern Polish people's opinion, I can understand that it is a disputed territory, case is - it was part of both USSR and Poland. So this should be resembled in game.
Cores have always been a problem hor the HoI2 series.
How about Yugoslavia and / or the balkans?

it forces lazy people to work too and spending there live with my tax money
Well, in my country (Greece) politicians are so corrupt that they spend my hard worked tax money themselves, being lazy and arrogant.... Can someone write an event to delete them? :)

Thus, based on your own words, my friendly advise to you - get the necessary education yourself to better understand this topic. Since otherwise, indeed, my conclusions about your affiliations might have been wrong by being too soft. Even more so, I just noticed your signature, which puts my words even to more shame.

Yea, the outstanding achievements of the not-so-subtle communist military dictatorship of Yugoslavia are outstanding. Just compare their economy (GDP, GDP per capita) to other countries of the time, the data is available, its not hidden. And the Yugoslavian war happened not because of local, pre-existing and deep, horrible problems within the Yugoslavian society, no no, they were brought overnight by evil foreign schemers and Yugoslav inhabitants just fell for that.. And the fact that the marvelous Yugoslavian system fell even though it was not dependent on Soviet Union's system, also, only further strengthens the point about the strength and quality of their system.

link link link plz troll
Pretty sure Yugos gdp was similar to USSR.

Edit: wait. Your post dont even make sense, its not relevant. Where in the sig does it say that yugos was an economical superpower??
Isn't that a quote from Qaddafi, though?
Might even be from Osama Bin laden, it doesnt change that its true.

However his sig is true. :p

Unfortunately it is not. If it was, you wouldn't be making a mod depicting a Yugoslavian civil war, now would you?
It was a failed dream, because only one entity in the nation believed in it, while the other two "believed" only as long as it suited their purpose. And then a couple of more entities appeared out of thin air, and had their own little vision of how things should be. Add some outside interference (who aggravated things some more ) and you have a civil war, or a "war of liberation" as some of the entities like to claim.

But enough about that, we have derailed from the topic.
I think Soviet Union should have cores it receives from Poland.
This is a game after all.

Noticed how the sig was in past tense? And yes it is a failed dream but it did survive in total peace for 50 years.
Yugoslavia started to decline in the mid 80s when they started to liberalize until the war. Oh weird coincidence!

But yes too much derail.
