SOV Western front / GER Eastern Front Animated map

I think many people around a world don't know the real picture or have wrong idea of Wehrmacht offencive in USSR in 1941 and red army counter offensive in 1943. That's why, while we all wait for HOI 4 release, I decided to give a link to animated map with tons of info how things were on or Eastern front, or how we Russians call it Great Patriotic War. It's easy to see how red army forces were surrounded during first months of war what led to terrible losses in man and equipment. It reminded me a battle planner of HOI 4.

Don't know if there's such, Red army had severe losses during Soviet-Finnish war (Winter war) despite superior strength, and I personally would be interested in seeing such map.

Will be deleted due to forbidden topics and symbols, but yes, awesome and chilling at the same time. You get the sterile top-down view, but then you can also watch harrowing video clips, listen to soldiers describe their experiences and read details about all kinds of horrible events.

It's not without fault -- for one, it's almost comical how biased it is. But yes, it's an excellent presentation nonetheless.

Also, I absolutely love those small pop-ups,
So as a suggestion to th HOI4 devs: pleas give us a pop-up setting that gives us these tiny boxes. You just get a small box with basic info, a date, and possibly a flavour image, and then you can perhaps click on it for more details. Incredibly practical.

Also it's eastern front not western front and you got my hopes up for a sec that they had done a west front version

Or USSR, and the video is shown from their POV so western front IS the correct term here, although it will really confuse english-speaking forum

Actually, when playing as the USSR I too often refer to the German-Russian front as the "Western front", with Japan obviously being the east front .

You are correct) What I meant is official name of war theater and according to wiki in Europe and other western countries it's called "Eastern Front".

I believe that would be "the second front". The one Stalin pleaded with the allies for to be opened in order to relieve the Soviet front from pressure.

Great job.

I have to echo Safe Keeper however, its ridiculously biased, to the point of almost being revisionism. And little im sure translation errors like "Railway to Leningrad open". The Road of Love was many things, Railroad it was not.
