Oh boy! Thanks for the honor :D I was wondering if there was one where I could send troops into Sonora and occupy it (annex hopefuly) since Mexico never accepts my offer to annex Sonora and that other provience thats hard to spell, I want a pacific port! lol

You could always just beat them up and take the land you want.

Yea, wouldnt have been that hard after France kicked the crap out of them and forced them to a humiliating peace, and then it only cost me 1 prestige to dow them, but I want a nice shiney event for my AAR.

An event will fire sometime after 1880 that'll give you a shot at buying Sonora and Chihuahua. If they don't sell, take.

The real geographic wedge is the Ohio River, and that's there regardless. Really, the question is a political one.

Prior to 1863, I think so. If the Union will is broken early in the War (which is really the only time it could've happened) and the South is holding on to DC and Philly, letting VA stay intact doesn't seem like a big trade-off.

After 1862, WV is a real, live state (however it came to be)--it has a governor, a song, and everything. Time and a two-year absence of Confederate soldiers give it legitimacy. If the Union gives up at this point, it's doing so out of exhaustion, and has a much stronger negotiating hand. Then I think WV stays in the Union.

This is reflected in the mod. If the CSA can't take western Virginia by 1863, an event will place it under Union control, and only a major knockout victory by the South can change it.

Sorry to double-post, but I just thought of some ideas.

1. The US capital should move after the CS wins, even if all the border states aren't ceded. I doubt the Yanks would want to have their whole government in the shadow of Rebel guns. A 45%-45% choice for either Philly or New York, and a 10% for Chicago?

2. If the US or CS goes extremist (monarchy, commie or fascist), the border states have a chance to switch sides.

3. Further secessionist disruptions in a US that loses the war? Merge Cali and Columbia to make a west coast revolter and use the extra tag for a heartland one.

I'd say having their whole government decapitated the next time the Rebs get a bee in their bonnet would be a worse blow... ;)

Not less likely to be extremist, more likely to jump borders. It'd just be odd if Oregon joined the CS or Florida joined the US.

I messed up in typing. The revolter nations would be for an extremist US. If the US falls enough to go monarchy (and with the CS there as an example), I think other areas would start abandoning ship, cultural differences or no.

Except Deseret. I dunno how much you want to include things from Turtledove, but I always liked that the Mormons would be a constant thorn in the Yankee's side.

1) The Union invariably has a force in Maryland greater than the entire Confederate Army right after the War for Southern Independence ends. If the South starts a war with the Union, Richmond is exponentially more endangered than DC ever will be, especially since "A House Divided?" only works once.

2) Point taken as to geography, but right now there's no trigger for gauging how for or against an extremist government a specific province is, so it'd be a totally random affair at best. One could have, say, a Missouri that's 100% fascist secede from a fascist country to side with a democratic neighbor.

3) See #2. (There is, BTW, a Union Disintegrates event that can fire if the North is *really* getting waxed by the South. It does pretty much what you describe, just for a different cause.)

--Fixed Radio Factory text & description bug, so no more "UNKNOWN STRING WANTED."
--Added a CS Buys The Virgin Islands event.
--Fixed the Chinatown Fire Event so that it only damages structures in Hawaii.
--Revised the Cubans Call for Independence event, making it recurrent.
--Modded the US & CS "Intervention in the 2nd Mexican Civil War" events, fixing the dates and triggers respectively.
--Added CSA leader pics for Pemberton, Fitzhugh Lee, Lejeune, Price, Sibert, and D.H. Hill, thanks to the VIP mod.
--Event added for Pancho Villa's Cross-Border Attack. Muchos gracias to Volga for the suggestion.
--Enabled the 1881, 1914, and Interwar events for the Grand Campaign scenario.
--The Arizona and New Mexico provinces are now divided north-south. The CSA starts the 1861 scenario with the former, and the Union the latter. (Note: If you're not playing this mod as the CSA and prefer the existing provincial division, just delete the Province file in the Southern Revolutions/db directory before activating the mod.)

So will this invalidate any games already started so it? I mean with the Arizona - New Mexico changes? I would like to add this update with the events and continue writing my AAR.

Oh yea, just another little side note while im typing, your Armagedon mod replaced your DD one right? So will it work without Armagedon? Also, I got the Yellow Press and the sinking of the CSA Arkansas in 1891, is that supposed to happen since the text says it happend in Febuary 1898?

It won't invalidate them, no. You won't get the new leader pics, but that's about it.

The AZ/NM change is only in regards to their classification as provinces in V:R. In the previous version, the CSA usually wound up with two provinces: AZ and NM, but in the new one, there will be one province: AZ, consisting of the southern halves of the two modern U.S. states. There's no way to get his provincial change in an old game without modding the savegame file.

As for your AAR, I'd keep going and not worry about this particular change.

The current version of CA works with both DD and ARM, but the update I'm working on now looks like it will be ARM-only due to the many changes made in the latest patch.

The CSS Arkansas event can fire earlier or later than the date described. That's in the vanilla version of the event.

Thanks again for the help and a wonderful update. :) I'll keep trying to get the armagedon mod to work though I keep geting that error I mentioned in the Armagedon thread :wacko:
