How come buying Chihuahua and Sonora gives me Sonora and baja California? Also, how is The Emperor of Mexico event Triggered. And I read and event in the file that said France recognizes the Confederacy. When does this happen?

1) That's a bug. I'll post a hotfix ASAP.

2) The trigger is: Mexico & the CSA exist; France is at peace; flag = { name = flg_euro_intervention value = 1 }; France and Mexican relations are bad (but not at war); France is a Great Power; and no peace treaty between France & Mexico. France must control Mexico City, and be some type of monarchy.

3) That's a consequence of "A House Divided?" if the Union opts to keep fighting.

Thanks for pointing out the bug!

The aforementioned bug has been squashed. Corrected versions of SR V1.2 are now available at the links below.

If you don't want to bother with re-downloading the mod, just do this:

1) Deactivate SR in JSGME
2) Go to the Victoria/MODS/Southern Revolutions/db/events folder and open the Mexico file.
3) Find the number 1136 and replace it with the number 1156. Do this in every instance it appears. Save and close the file when you're done.
4) Reactivate SR in JSGME.

I just tried becoming The Empire of Mexico as Mexico. I let France occupy 75% of My Territory and Mejico. If France can have no existing peace treaties for the event to trigger, I don't think this is practical, because they always have a peace treaty with Annam. Please correct me if I am wrong about that, I don't know a thing about modding.

It's not "no existing peace treaties," it's just no peace deal between France and Mexico.

There might not have been 10k soldiers out there at the time but there were certainly enough to reoccupy the territory quite quickly. Also, The five Civilized Tribes cast their lot with the Confederacy on October 28, 1861. So the territory should be U.S. until then. Maybe you could add an event to try to get them to join the South? That might be interesting. Thanks for the Mexico advice. I love this mod.

Its been a while, but I just dled the 1.2 version of the mod and something wierd is going on. I took Washington, Philly, New York and even had Chicago for a time. The Union moved its capital to Chicago once they ground me out of the place. They had the election of 1864.

But here is the frustrating part, it is July 1868 and no peace!!!!!!!! I still hold Washington and Frederick and all of Kentucy. The Union's mil score is 20 and mine is 14. They can't bust my lines because every time they try, Marse Robert or Ole Jack kicks em back over the border. :p

The problem is this, is this war ever gonna end? I never seen this happen on the older version. We got WW1 type trench warfare going on now, I am afraid all my good leaders will die of old age before this war ends. Any suggestions on how to end this thing in my favor? :wacko:

First off, this sounds like the most amazing CSA game I've ever heard about. Frankly, I didn't think it possible for the CSA to last that long, so kudos to you for your staying power.

The bad news is the US's current AI file hates you beyond all reason. Insert Reese's speech from The Terminator here: it will not show pity, etc. So your only hope to win is by event, or by running the Yankees off the map.

The first event is "A House Divided?" and for that you need to get Philly back plus have no more than 10% of your own provinces lost. Myself, I always save and reload whenever those conditions exist. Otherwise, the event may not trigger in time.

The other event is "Have We Sacrificed Too Much?" and for that you need to control at least 10% of US provinces while having no more than 30% of your own lost, plus the Union must be at least 10% war exhaustion. Again, the trigger is random, so a save and reload is advisable when these conditions exist.

Godspeed on ending The War, and thanks for playing SR!

I'll look at the Five Tribes issue and see what I can do. Assimilation is broken in Ricky right now, so it's not always possible to leave things in Union hands even when perhaps they should be.

Damnation! Thats why the event never fired! They hold all the desert and scrub of Arizona and New Mexico plus the 1600 Dakota indians of Oklahoma! :p

As for holding out, well, I kilt me a lot of Yankee divisions and sunk thier fleet. :D

I will UL a screenie of the date as soon as I can! :D

The Union exhaustion is 58% right now and mine is over 75%. I am also afraid the Confederacy's Have we sacrificed too much event will fire if my exhaustion gets too high.


EDIT: Instead of a new post I will just put the screenie here. My bad, it was April, not July 1868. :p

The Yank flag is the flag of the First US regiment of infantry. I try to use historical regimental flags for nations. Since in this time period, the regimental flag is real important to the troops.

As for the stars and bars, I have no idea. I unzipped, used the j thingie to activate the mod, and this is what I have.

Damnation that took a long time!!!!! :wacko: But we finally brought the Blue bellies to heel and won our independence! Below are a couple of screenies.

The first one here is in 1870. I had noticed that the DamnYankees were continually sending troops out of sight, so I surmised that they must be having one hell of a problem with revolts, that and Marse Robert was tying down 80,000 plus blue bellies by himself. So I sent ole jack and and Early on an offensive in the Missouri and Illinois regions while Longstreet began an offensive to clear Texas of blue bellies.

1871 rolled around and finally things broke open. I caught Grant and 40,000 blue bellies in a trap with Ole Jack and Early, wiped em out. That broke the front as they yanks then began to withdraw troops from the east to try and stem the tide of Butternut running wild in the midwest.

That opened the door for Marse Robert to take Philly in a surprise move that caught the Yank garrison by surprise. To my surprise The yanks went to war with the Brits, seems the British are always steppin in when you don't need 'em anymore. ;) By the time the Yanks cried uncle Marse Robert had died and Longstreet was transferred from Texas to Pennsylvania while Marse Robert was given a state funeral in Richmond. Finally the yanks gave in and even gave us the Injuns, New Mexies and Kentuck. :D

If I would have thought of it before, this would have made a damned good AAR.

Here is a suggestion, maybe make an event that if the Rebs hold out till 1870 that the Yanks will negotiate for peace. Otherwise the rebs will just either get ground away or get lucky like I did with Yank revolts.

Is the Victory at Last event for the South the same as the A House Divided? event for the North? Because whenever the yanks refuse my peace terms it would be nice for France to come on over from Mexico to help.

The Information I gave you about the Five civilized Tribes was only semi-correct. That was the date the Cherokee nation joined the Confederacy. The Choctaws joined in June 1861. Also, at the battle of Glorietta Pass( where the Colorado 1st Volunteers fought) General Sibley fielded 3,800 troops. The Colorado Volunteers and the California Coloumn outnumbered him, but I don't know by how much. It doesn't matter really, because the whole New mexico Campaign happened in 1862, but I thought you might want to know the specifics if you didn't already.
I do like your mod, but I think it might be nice to have an event or something where we get a commerce raider, to simulate the ones built in Britain.
I don't know what happened, but in my current Game I, playing as Dixie, of course, Am pused out of Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. When and how does the Cleborne Emancipation event trigger?​
