South Africa-something stranges going on

Its never happened to be before but South Africa is available to be given independence in 1860-this is earlier than ive ever seen it before

never in my experience-normally South Africa only appears an an option from say 1890 onward

Maybe on that screen of nations to release you haven't scrolled down the list. Perhaps you have released another nation earlier allowing for it to become visible?? I looked in the revolt.txt which confirms it should be available from the start.

It might depend on the amount of british national POPs which are necessary to grant statehood.

You can release a nation even if your national POPs aren't the majority there.

You were probably thinking of the whole dominion/satellite thing, or maybe granting statehood?? A nation is released as a dominion if it's would-be capital is located on what is currently a colony (not yet granted statehood).
