What causes South Africa to consistantly counter any autonomy I put on it? I've got every single country as an Integrated Puppet except this one that stays as a Dominion?
A good tip in case anyone who reads this hasn't found it yet is to lend lease in bulk your old planes, even pre '36. You can get one or two hundred points deduction for some Pre-War fighters, and any obsolete planes produced during the war - plus, of course, it will help them in war if they're somewhere vulnerable (Raj, for example)
A very good idea, but if Japan attack as well you might be shorthanded for ships. With this in mind I found the most effective method of pushing all to integrated puppets as early as possible is to put all dockyards on convoys and to pump out nonstop convoys to each subject 1 at a time till they are Integrated.

I see, fair enough. But won't Suez close because, you control Egypt, rather than a puppet? Its not risky at all. Japan just takes Hongkong and the islands north of NZ. They falter cause they can't declare on Malaysia, Australia, nz, or Raj since the AI already weighs the war against UK and USSR as heavy so they dont justify wargoals after that. They don't even touch Sri Lanka. The downside is that the Mediterranean stays open to all cause Egypt stays out of the war and the Suez remains passible cause of that.

Is it more efficient? It seems to me that it's the same as just having them as annexed but without their factories. You release egypt cause its far more efficient to have an integrated puppet than colony states at war when the land is spread across the globe. And dont call them into wars. But don't release them till you unlock suppress subjects. or right before the war is set to pop up.
