With circumstance giving me cause
I spent half the week out of doors.
But now finding time
at last to read rhyme,
I find that the story's on pause!

Now that the Saiiban don't have to work
What will happen to those that lived from work?
What will happen to those that enjoyed work?

The break is earned.
We do not sing eternally.
Sometimes, silence is necessary!

Echoes of the Past Unraveled

When voices rise up to the sky
Create Music; Echoes in space
Echoes in time; Vibrate in Memory—
Like so many strings

Symphonies sung softly in space
Create Music; Echoes in space

Like so many reeds

Memories of others gone by
Create Notes; Echoes in time
Echoes in our story; Inflame the Mind—
Like so many stars

Remnants of passage, of ruin, of wreckage,,
of rights wronged and wronged rights of warnings and
war and wreckage and waste and and and and….
Echo in time; Vibrate the Soul—
As a lesson, A warning

Memories of the voices of others singing gone by
Create a symphony; Echoing in space time,
Echoes across time, place, species; We remember—
We will remember.

To take a break from all this commotion
And cease all motion

Enjoy the time offline
Think not of verse or rhyme
When'er ye return 'twill be fine.

While we did not cease motion
(that would mean death)
We did enjoy different directions

Thank you all for the kind words, as you can see, we're back, I plan on trying to get through quite a few updates in the next few weeks so I can finally resume the game (I paused it while I caught up)

And now for a truly curious event
Just when you perhaps thought
the surprises of the universe were spent
It seems we have caught sight
Of gaseous beings whose plight
We have decided to mediate.

And why not?
It will be an interesting experiment.
Let this new type of life grow, ferment.
Another seed planted, another flower grows
The pollen is picked up by the wind as it goes
And spreads, floating

Taste the air, fly,
Amidst the winds of life
Blowing unexpectedly,
Taking you to new places, new sights,

What does it matter?
You’ve got this marvelous scent,
Go stop and smell the flowers,

World’s full of troubles
That’ll drag you down.

Science? Saiiban? Education? Employment?
Forget it! Fly far away!
These flowers will fly you higher
Than boring old starships, anyway.

Sure, come visit us,
We can guarantee you won’t want to leave
Forget the boring government, and its demands and needs.

No! Fire! What? Are you insane?
Why would you burn such a wonder?
You have to stop, you have to understand, you have to stop
and smell the flowers

The world returns now, clear,
The madness has passed away.
What a wonder to hold so dear
The scent of a flower
To stop
An entire planet

A normal place,
With but traces of the ash
Of a nearly forgotten flower.

We have taken
the star systems
you could have used

we needed them
for we are expanding too
and there is promising science
further on from them

We are kind of sorry
(although our apologies are mostly formulaic)
we know it’s more than an inconvenience
especially since it leaves you
between us and murderous death robots
that want to kill all organics

We hope you can forgive us
The star systems were important
so necessary
And so warm.
