I agree with Rafanelli. We are unique among nations by uplifting our minorities from political irrelevance to a near equal status, giving them strong rights over themselves. While I am opposed to further federalism at this time, we shouldn't revoke the rights we have given to our Italian brethren.

-Johannes Carile, Minister of the Interior

Sounds like treason. Are you a traitor? You look like a traitor.

Sir, I hope you do realize that your so-called noble blood isn't as relevant as it was seventy years ago. You have just leveled the accusation of treason against the President of Italy, which is not a minor matter. Your crass and rude behaviour is unbecoming of a man of Parliament, or the Imperialist Party, for that matter. I expect you to redact your statement with the most express celerity; as well as an apology.

I must say that the Imperialists will have to do better to control their loudest voices.

- Rafanelli

I thank the Minister for his support. The further decentralization of Italy is something I have opposed since day one, but I have repeatedly reiterated I shall do my duty to both the Republic at large, and the federalized unit I have been elected to be President of.

To say that my support for the Italian nation as their elected President is treasonous, is a tragic error on the part of Herr von Altmark, who has once again shown his unwillingness to accept the facts as they are, and embrace Germany's brighter future as a nation brought together in unity and federalization. The workers of the German nation clamour to establish themselves as a unified force that can be heard; and federalization, as it stands now, is a major asset to that.

The people of Germany deserve the utmost in democratic freedoms -- to give them any less, is, in my view, treasonous.

- Rafanelli

Buttered treason is no better than regular treason.

Your slanderous remarks make me laugh -- Comrade Altmark, you cling to the von in your name as if you are still the rich aristocrat in the Empire; you're not. You're a private citizen who just so happens to have a little more access to wealth than most -- I know this feeling, for my husband does as well; as a heir of the historical House of Ascania; inheritor of estates and wealth. But unlike you, he possesses fragments of humanity in his soul that leads to him being a charity-builder, a philanthropist, a man of God and the people blessed with wealth. You see it as a right; he sees it as a privilege he carries.

Your positions of continued denial of rights and freedoms to the German people are the biggest example, perhaps, of why the people need parties like the Communist Party, Socialist Party, even the Federalist Party -- we are the ones who are railing the hardest to emancipate the German people from the slavery of men like you. Men who would see the population of Germany bound and gagged; beholden to the organizations of God, organizations of Crowns, and organizations of the elite bourgeois.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself -- but even then, perhaps we shouldn't be concerned. You will pass. Men like you; writers and critics, who prophesize with their pens, shall always be looking for something to attack the left with. They'll keep their eyes wide waiting for every chance, for the best chance may not come again. But I deeply advise you, Comrade Altmark, to keep your eyes on the wheel, because it is still spinning and there is no telling who that it will be naming -- for the losers now, will be later to win, for times are changing.

Times are changing and you are not on the train of progress -- as the world proceeds, granting voting rights to women, minorities, and various groups who chafe under the rule of men like you. You will never get what you want -- because time shall push you away.

Good thing that your soul will never be let through the Gates. You are the spawn of evil or something.

Stick shaking intensifies.

I have done more in the name of God in my years as a communist and as a labourer than you have done in your years as a career politician, sir.

Comrade Rafanelli, what a way you have with words! Perhaps your speech should be set to music; a song, a rallying cry around which the workers of the world can unite!

~ Klaus Siekert, KPD

Maybe a wise man in the future will be inspired to write a proper song; for alas, I cannot carry a tune.

The Supreme Court is officially ending this session of the Reichstag, as 24 hours have passed with no objections to Herr Wouters' plan.

URGENT NEWS

A representative from the Republic of Dalmatia, a purely hypothetical government of two provinces on the Adriatic Sea, has requested German aid in breaking away from Venetia. At the moment, all they require is an open declaration of diplomatic support ((to support them in a crisis)), but they do request military aid if it is necessary to triumph.

Foreign Minister Axel Wouters has been reached out to for comment.

-- Venetian Correspondent of the German Times.

Dalmatia must be free and sovereign.

Who are the allies and friends of Venetia?

Venice has two friends, Herr Runge: Poland and France.

Deputy Undersecretary for the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

I fully support the people of Dalmatia in their righteous cause of freedom! The people of Germany demand the dismemberment of the Venetian state, and it is up to the current government to fulfill those desires for liberty and stability to our South!

Venetia long ago abandoned Europe for the Americas and thus their pitiful attempt to cling to their holdings here is a mockery. It is an insult to the people of Dalmatia that they be ruled by an American power. Long has Germany been the protector of the many smaller states of Europe, and so shall we continue to assume that title. The people of Dalmatia have requested our aid in their call for independence, and it would be an affront to all good German values to allow them to be oppressed by the overseas Venetian tyrants. Let us take a stand beside them to show that Germany will not stand idle while our fellow Europeans are being mistreated.

- Reichspräsident Eva von Vandenburg

While I support the right to self determination of the Dalmatian people, I do not desire open war with France and Poland, and so this matter must be handled delicately. I propose that we support them diplomatically, but move firmly away from military engagement if it looks to be heading down that path.

((Support them in the crisis. Are there any wargoals we could add to convince other GP's to support us?))

((We've got to wait to see if somebody votes you down first. :) ))

Legbreaker coughs a bit, with blood appearing in his handkerchief, before he speaks up :

I think it would not be wise for us to engage in a war over such a small possible state.

Legbreaker retreats to his chair, visibly very ill. It would be clear to many the old man was nearing the end of his life..

((
Please stop putting this character in government positions, he is about to croak.))
