Is there a medieval equivalent to a paternity test? This is gonna make things awkward when he's emperor considering everyone else is Swedish.

Really strange, I would come home early once in a while to see if you surprise your wife with her Danish lover. Or you just impose a no-Danes policy to your court.

If you don't want to rule as a Dane, you obviously could just make sure he is taught by a Swede do transform him into what he is supposed to be. On the other hand, it might be fun to find out what his son will turn out to be ...

It does happen, through hidden events. There is also an event whereby you discover your wife's infidelity.

Note: That second event is not guaranteed to fire. So yes, you can be cuckolded without knowing it...

Nope, potato. Personally it seems rather odd that children can determine whether they're Norwegian, Danish or Swedish before they can even learn to speak. The actual traditions they'll gain from birth at that time are effectively the same, so it's only when an accent and a national consciousness develops that they'll be anything other than North Germanic.

My current ruler is Danish even though his father & guardian was Scottish while his mother is Greek. All but 2 of his fathers demesne was in Scotland with the other 2 being in Norway.

Not complaining though as it let me create the Kingdom of Finland to add to the Empire of Britannia, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Norway & Kingdom of Lithuania and now I can press some more de jure Kingdom claims to get enough counties to form the Empire of Scandinavia.
