Son not moving out...

Currently the Byzantine Emperor, married my heir to the unmarried young queen of castille to bring that kingdom into the Imperial fold later on. At the time of marriage, my son was leader of a retinue - and didn't move to her court when he married, but continued on as general. When I made someone else the general, he seemed to hop over to one of my Doux, rather than over to her court (which he is also counted as steward of, despite not being there!)

I don't actually mind still having him around, but the question is can he still produce heirs? And if so, which court will they be in? And if not, what can i do about this? The heir is a strong, attractive genius, and I want him popping out sons left and right to get as many grand children that have all those traits as possible. :x

He will still make children.

Otherwise a queen and a king wouldn't be able to have children either.

I have a recollection that the fact that spouses were living in different courts, or one was continually on errands (like being general leading troops) reduced the chance of pregnancy, without eliminating it entirely.

Not sure if someone can corroborate that, but I am pretty sure it was stated that not being in the same geographical location will result in a lower chance for those grandchildren to appear!

Note that if your heirs wife doesn't have a congenital trait (like strong or weak) then the odds of their children inheriting strong/attractive/genius is no better than if they both had no traits.

It seems the odds are much improved since LoR, but in any case, she has both attractive and genius.
