"Something went wrong updating the launcher...."

Greetings. Couple days ago, my PC crashed and I had to replace both my motherboard and my graphics card. NVIDIA GTX 1050 installed and driver updated, I tried to jump into EU4 and after a second of the load screen, it crashed. All my other games work fine. On both this PC and my laptop, when I try to play, the launcher tells me in the top left corner that "Something went wrong when updating the launcher. Please contact support." Game won't load on either computer - although for the record, I've never tried to play EU4 on my laptop yet.

Support... support?!

Please try this:

- uninstall EU4 from Steam
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.


Delete the following folders if still present:

- Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4
- Documents/Paradox/EU4 (keep any valued save games, of course)
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

Reboot.

Now install EU4 again and see how that goes please!

Works now~

Seems the reboot did the trick. This was odd tho; after proceeding as directed, it loaded up fine. So I made a save game folder and imported my old saved games. Then, it crashed like it did before. So, I added just the one saved game I was looking for, and now it works fine.

There may be an issue with pre-1.29 save games upsetting 1.29 ; I'm not 100% sure of this so haven't reported it yet. It seems to be sporadic though.
