It is far to easy to send huge armies far overseas with no attrition or penalties. Playing as King of Edessa somehow the HRE got a claim on my kingdom and decided he was going to take it from me, even though i am attacking muslims and spreading the faith, he decides it's a good time to stab me in the back.

So he literally sends about 500 ships and well over 100,000 men to attack me. I put 15k men in Antioch and held firm as wave after wave of 10k men landed and tried to crush me. After literally slaughtering 100,000 men i finally couldn't find the manpower to fight any longer.

Unless they are on a crusade there should be big relation hits with his vassals for sending his men so far away to die, or some other way to prevent it.

I agree completely with Rambo. The empires in this game seem to be very over-powered. The HRE has yet to lose "any" of its wars in my game so far. I'm 200 years in. They have crusaded to about the Caspian, and also have holdings all over Iberia... I don't mind the French holdings in Iberia as much, but they seem to be a little too abundant as well.

I know this is not a realistic game, but historically in those days, even the only ones that went crusading were generally landless knights or poor barons and dukes, hoping to get lands in the east. A far cry from having ever available levy in the kingdom go off to war thousands of miles away. Anyway I am sure if P'dox doesn't fix it, someone will find a way to mod more realistic crusades and overseas invasions.
