After much labor, it looks like SWMH is good to go now. Probably will do a release in the morning, and aside from lots of SWMH fixes, it will additionally add Arko's Interface compatch.

Time to think about something else for awhile...

Thanks to all of you guys. Have a merry christmas with your families and just play the game you mod a little bit. From experience I know that modders actually don´t get to play the games they mod that often :D

Hey, from one Washingtonian to another: thanks for all you're doing and all the work you put into this mod.

Thanks to all of you guys. Have a merry christmas with your families and just play the game you mod a little bit. From experience I know that modders actually don´t get to play the games they mod that often :D

Thanks so much for your support, guys. Knowing that our community recognizes our efforts and receiving your kind words really does recharge my batteries, I'll admit. And, hey, @PlayMp1: WEST COAST POWER! Etc. ;)

Regarding actually playing the game we mod: that is generally true, yes. I tend to force myself to make more time and play nevertheless, because as the chief gameplay modder around here, I really need to intimately know the game, in all of its incarnations, to be qualified to make gameplay/balance/immersion/etc. improvements. However, with WoL, I've still not got a chance to play a game yet. Hopefully my latest round of fixes and candidate for HIP's next release (coming out either today or tomorrow) will give me a chance, though.

Did the SWMH issue ever get worked out this morning? I'm not trying to be demanding just making sure a hotfix isn't tucked away in some dark corner of the forums.

Thank you for the continued development and I hope to see things remain well for the team.

As far as I know, it's been worked out and will be in the next release. There are some other bugs that need to be ironed out in the other components and ArkoPack's new update also needs to be included.

This thread is a great example of the sheer awesomeness of you modders. It's Christmas, you don't even have time to play the game yourselves, and yet you take precious hours that you should be spent exploring your new Carouser Focus (in game and IRL) working like maniacs to get your product that you're paid nothing for to work.

I cannot possibly adequately express my admiration and appreciation for you guys!

It's still an issue in the 2.2.1 version, though, at least when I use EMF.

But that's really minor and not worthy of consideration, in my opinion, since 2.3 should soon be playable so I can upgrade to the recent version too.

UPDATE EDIT: Forget the above. I must have borked that install, because on a new one it's not an issue at all, no matter what combinations of HIP modules I try.

Yeah, this is minor, but to be clear, do you mean EMF+SWMH on 2.2.1? That'd be expected. If you mean EMF does this on the vanilla map on 2.2.1, I'd be very confused indeed, because the fix for the issue on 2.3 was entirely in [standalone] SWMH. If EMF only does it w/ SWMH, then I'd assume SWMH plus anything else also does it?

I'd have to check, zijistark, and I will as it's dead easy to plug it in and plug it off again, but I probably was using SWMH with EMF in that install as I absolutely love SWMH's map. I have tried HIP with the Vanilla map a couple of times, but I don't know if that was one of those times. I do know, however, that I tried with just EMF pulled out (whatever other modules I had installed at the time I don't know, probably most of them. I'm a fan :) ), and the issue went away. But I'll check.

UPDATE: Checked it and now I'm even more confused. I ran it with everything except SWMH, invite to court was fine. Then I ran it with everything except EMF, invite to court was just fine too. And then, to replicate what I suspected was my original troubled install, I ran it with everything, including SWMH and EMF, and that... worked just fine too... Which I know for a fact it didn't before. Back then, everybody said "no" and I didn't even have a tool tip telling me why they said no. But not this time.

I must have had done something wrong back then. The only thing I can think of is that I'd been rolling back and forth a lot among the "betas", and maybe I'd manage to bork something. This newest install was a result of me throwing my hands up, uninstalling CKII entirely, then reinstalling it and then immediately rolling back to 2.2.1.

Bottom line is that I was wrong. The 2.2.1 (Charlemagne) version of HIP works perfectly fine. I'm sorry about that, but thanks for taking the time and giving me some suggestions.

I've updated my post above so nobody gets the wrong idea because of my confusion.

Do note that EMF, in that version, does impose and require 25 gold to invite to court (no other diplo-interactions affected).

Yep, I saw that, but that wasn't the issue. I had the gold, but everybody said "no" and I didn't even get the tool tip as to why. The 25 gold for an invite miffed me a bit, by the way. I suppose it keeps the player from "harvesting" foreign courts to get lots of "fresh meat" for free and that's the reasoning behind it, but it does make a it bit too hard in the early game, especially if you're a poor tribal and we're talking about paying somebody 8 years of income to come to court, even if he already loves you and absolutely hates his current liege lord. But that's not in the 2.3 version, right? I did try it very briefly until I noticed the PDox levy bug and gave up on 2.3 for now, and I don't recall that hefty fee for an invite in that version.

Once again, zijistark, thanks so much for your input and time, particularly on such a minor issue. It set me straight and reminded me that even I, somebody who's been around for a while and isn't exactly a stranger to how modding and the install of mods work can be horribly wrong at times :)
