Well, very sad news to share:
I spent all of yesterday, into the night, fixing 999 bugs and inconsistencies in SWMH and eliminating all non-vanilla errors/warnings from it as reported by the Validator, my own custom integrity checking scripts, the debug output of the retail EXE, and the debug output of the beta/debug EXE. I've run out of things to fix or ways to structure SWMH in a way that is consistent with vanilla that wouldn't require a major map overhaul. But even standalone SWMH still refuses to give an AI reasoning tooltip for 'invite to court,' 'demand religious conversion', and such other diplo-interactions; and the diplo-interactions are always declined (No) no matter what.
This is very bad. Since the vanilla map doesn't exhibit this problem, it is unknown whether a future Paradox patch will even resolve the issue (and seemingly unlikely if it's only happening to SWMH and not their map). I have no idea whether and how SWMH-based HIP installs will ever work with these core features of the game again. This is highly depressing.
Let's hope I get lucky and get a really bright idea, although I'm truly burnt-out on even trying at the moment. I've been working on this trial-and-error tedium with random issues caused by SWMH + patch 2.3 for several days straight, burning the candle at not only both ends but in the middle too. I had ambitious plans to significantly extend EMF during this window of free time, and I've spent it on a seemingly futile effort to make SWMH work with 2.3.
In other words, fuck.
I may be forced to pull SWMH from the next release (as the game is simply not functional with this issue outstanding). Note that these features do work on the vanilla map versions of HIP and that Lord of Pain is working to port NBRT+SWMH textures to the vanilla map, at the very least making it a lot more pretty than it is.
