When I click on the wine bottle on the trade window, I get a popup showing the product details:
Produced by:
Artisans 22.2
TOTAL PRODUCED: 22.201
Used by:
Artisans: 17.97
Aristocrats: 4.17
Bureaucrats: 0.71
. . . followed by a list of pop groups using < 0.5 each
TOTAL USED: 23.243
So it appears that my nation is producing the vast majority of its daily need for wine.
However, in the Market Activity portion of the trade screen, I see the following next to the wine symbol:
Activity: 20.0 Cost: -263
According to what I've always understood this window to be showing, this means I imported 20.0 units of wine in the previous day, at a total cost of 263. In fact, if I hover over the small trade icon at the top of the screen, it shows me that wine is among my top three imports and I imported 19.98 units.
Why am I importing that much wine when I only need 1 unit above what I'm producing? Is there a possible explanation for this?
I don't know if this is relevant, but the "common market" portion of the trade window shows 39.06 wine available, and 12.4 exported. It does seem unlikely that my combined spherelings would be producing as much wine as I am. (I'm Prussia in the year 1839. I've added Holstein and Luxembourg to my sphere, and haven't lost any of my originals)
EDIT: Here's another thing I just noticed. Hovering over the wine icon on the production tab of the production window shows the following:
"Our artisans are producing 22.2 Wine each day"
"Sold(Domestic): 2.42"
"Sold(Export): 22.10"
So my nation is producing 22 wine each day, of which 2 is being sold domestically and 22 is being exported. This, even though wine is one of my top 3 imports.
I'm sure I must be misunderstanding something, because Paradox would never release a game where most of the information given to the player is complete nonsense. Please, somebody explain what's going on here.
