Hi
I'm relatively new to CK (got it somewhere last month) and decided to go with the lastest beta patch (tought by the experience with the EU2 beta patches being so great). The game is really good if you stick in Europe (Poland namely
.
However I've noticed some strange things regarding muslims (played only the Third Crusade scenerio). When a crusade accurs it, the whole christian world dows the poor little sheikdom (and by whole I mean it: England, Scotland, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and others).
And after the kings dow, their dukes follow. I don't understand that behaviour. It doesn't only happen in crusades. For exammple when I dowed the pagan Prussia, almost all of my dukes declared separate wars. Weren't they supposed to mobilise their troops for me and put them under my command?
Apart from that, as I said, during the crusade there are alot of wars between individual dukedoms, sheikdoms etc. The whole crusade thing is a bit wrong. I mean the usual scenerio looks like this: crusade for Valencia, sheikdom of Valencia DoWed, king of Almohad joins in, sheikdom of Valencia taken out by some guy who establishes his county there (and thus is out of the war against Almohad).. and all of the christian troops, instead of reconquisting Spain, go to Maroko to take the crown lands of Almohad.
I really think that if one of your commanders is given a count title on the just-conquered land, he should still be fighting your war. It also works the other way around. A muslim state (usually Almohad) captures some land in Europe (Orleans as an example form my last game). A new sheikdom is created there and thus it's out of the war. It's strange to say the least.
The other strange thing I noticed is that Almohad doesn't call his vassals to war. Twice I've seen their lands in Maroko captured, while ~90% loyal vassal states in Algiers had their troops unmobilized.
It's really weird to see the european scheme of war (if in war against this guy we can only take his lands not his vassals') applied to muslim vs christian conflicts. I think that the european crusaders cared little about who's land they're conquering at the moment. Christians in muslim lands (and vice versa) should be able to take anyone's (overlord's or vassal's) land.
Just my 2 cents.
