1. About the VP of a province. The vp of a province could be calculated as follow:
vp (prov) = a (prov) + Σ [b (i) * x (prov, i)]
a (prov): the base vp of this province. The most important factor about this value should be the location of this province.
b (i): the weight of a type of building or resource. Players can get corresponding vp after they build a new building.
x (prov, i): the level of this type of building or resource in this province.
2. About the VP of a state.
vp (state) = K * Σ vp (prov).
K could be a function of the tech level of this state if it is not 1.
3. About logistics. Add some logistics brigades and can rease the logistic efficiency in the nearby provinces.

I'll admit right away that I don't have the math skills to understand even half of what you're saying, but the idea of support brigades really sounds interesting.

I assume you mean brigades that, when attached to a division, will affect the logistical throughput (be it supplies or troops) of the area they are in? Possibly also for neighbouring provinces, in a diminishing manner for perhaps one or two provinces, allowing the player to create "fast routes" by placing such divisions along the way. Am I understanding you correctly? If so, I like it, I like it a lot.

Would mean a lot of coding I suppose, but there is certainly nothing wrong with coming up with good ideas/suggestions. Who knows where it might end up, right?

edit: even though I do not understand the calculations, I think I get the jist of your VP idea. You want VPs to be decided by certain features of a province, rather than a set number based on historical importance that I think (could be wrong) that it is now? In other words, changing what a province contains would change it's VP?

That's right for both aspects. And important strategic provinces (like Gibraltar, Murmansk and Ardennes) would gain extra VPs.

Well, then I say; great ideas!

Let's hope this finds it's way into later expansions/patches of the game. I like the logistic brigades in particular, as they would open up a whole new spectrum of strategic choises. Do I focus on hard hitting divisions, or being able to supply my slightly weaker divisions in a better way, or a balance of both?

I'm drooling. :)
