Hello im still rather confused about how to sow dissent of improve relations with other states or provinces. When you click on your ministers that either deal with either of these, the map turns to different shades of green or a sort of dark mauve colour. I assume the green shaded provinces are the ones you can send these ministers too. But what does the different shades of green mean? There are dark ones and a lighter shaded ones. I just wonder which way they mean in what is going on in those districts or provinces. Hope someone can explain this more fully, as since this new patch has been out i cant seem to be able to sow dissent or improve relations this time. thanks for any help.

Dunno.. I just notice that the dark green ones mean "go". I suspect the light green ones are extras owned by the same lord, who's in his home dark green province.

Before even hitting the option, I've already carefully picked out a target and have my plan already thought out in order for it to be effective. So I've never needed to figure the other colors out as I've found the target character's location with a rt-click and "show location" on his pic.

Thanks for the reply. But now i usually pick out the Daimyo or the clan leader and see what the relationships with their vassals are like and then send my minister to sow dissent. Ive also found it helps to use your minister to improve relations with others in your clan or Daimyo before you start building village improvements. But thats my opinion anyway for now.

I crank out castle improvements first, at least until reaching the first level that gives a troop bonus so that your levy gets bigger in that province. Then I'll worry about raising my income with upgrading the village some.

That's with one province, anyway. Once you get two or more provinces, you can have one of each being improved at the same time. Getting more than one province is fairly easy, even if you start as a vassal - just be the first commander to arrive at a siege in your liege's war.
