Hi,

I'm trying a game out as a Mega Corp for the first time, going as a Church.

I don't exactly understand what the "Temple of Prosperity" does.
It increases "Spiritualist Ethics Attraction: +50%"

  • Can someone please explain what that means?
  • What's the benefit?

A couple other questions:
When the Galactic market was founded, I nominated one of my planets to be the HUB, but did not win the nomination.
  • What determines what planet wins?
  • How can I increase my odds?
  • Can I ever take it from another player?

If a AI built a Branch office on a planet, can I ever get rid of it or is the only way to take over the planet?

Thanks.

Every pop has an ethic. Based on their ethics and your actions, the pop will be more or less happy. For example a pop with the 'spiritualist' ethic will be less happy if you have a bunch of soulless robots running around with citizen rights.

The happier pops are, the more productive they are and the less criminally they behave. Moreover, about half your influence each month is determined by how happy the various 'factions' of pops are on average, before considering other effects to happiness. So if you've got a bunch of xenophobes who are unhappy because you're in a federation, even if you've made them happy with amenities and free stuff, they'll still hurt your influence gain.

TL;DR, you need to please your pops' ethical concerns.

It's generally easiest if all pops have similar or at least compatible ethics. It's hard to please xenophobes and xenophiles at the same time. Ethics attraction determines what ethics pops are likely to switch to. Increasing ethics attraction means that more of your pops will be of that ethic, which makes keeping them happy much easier.

Galactic Market

After you take the decision to nominate your planet, you can take decisions to improve your own bid. You status will go up from adequate to perfect depending on how much other people have bid. If you have 'perfect' status, you get the market. You can't take it from them.

Thanks Guys!
Final note: since you're a megacorp, its important to note that the modification to ethics attraction applies to people on that planet.

So you're changing the ethics of their pops, not yours. This is generally good for you, because it heighten the chance that your neighbor will shift to spiritualist ethics and therefore be friendly to you.
